The 60,000 point sign-up bonus is worth $750 toward travel. Again, we recommend booking flight deals with the points, but there are so many great ways to use the points.

This is the key to booking amazing travel, including business and first class flights. See our top 6 redemptions for Ultimate Rewards Points.

Our Analysis

The Chase Sapphire Preferred has long been one of the best cards in the world of points and miles – especially for beginners. And that remains true today.

In fact, it’s better than ever. The current 60,000-point welcome bonus is an increase from its previous bonus of 50,000 points and the highest-ever publicly available bonus we’ve seen on the Chase Sapphire Preferred. There’s no telling how long this bigger bonus will be available.

And 60,000 points is nothing to sneeze at. With that bonus, you could book a trip for two to Hawaii – and still have points left over. With round-trip flights to Europe below $300, you could use the points directly to book a flight deal for as little as 19,000 Chase points. This bonus could even get you a business class seat in the amazing new Delta One suites to Europe or Asia.

Add in the different perks you get with the card, and this card will be easily worth the $95 annual fee for almost any traveler.

And there’s one other big reason to apply for a Chase credit card before opening others on the market. Once you’ve opened five or more credit cards from any bank (not just Chase) in a two-year period, you won’t get approved for another Chase card. It’s called the 5/24 rule.

While applying for five or more credit cards might sound insane, it just makes it important to prioritize Chase credit cards over their competitors. And there’s no better place to start than with the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Bottom Line

Others come close, but there is simply no better card to dip your toe into the world of points and miles and get some incredible free travel than the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card.
