Delta and American Express have rolled out a new Amex Offer, allowing you to earn up to 3x bonus SkyMiles (for 5x miles total) on all purchases through the end of 2021 by putting Delta purchases on your Delta credit card.
Regardless of which Delta card you have, you'll earn 5x SkyMiles total with this new offer. That's a 3x bonus for the Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card and a 2x bonus for both the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card and the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card.
This offer should be available on all Delta Gold, Platinum, and Reserve personal and business SkyMiles credit cards. By earning 5x SkyMiles on your Delta purchases, this could easily make your Delta-cobranded card your go-to for buying Delta flights for the future. Plus, there is no limit to the amount of bonus SkyMiles you can earn.
This offer comes on the heels of the new restaurant and cell phone bill credits that Amex also rolled out on the Delta, Hilton, and Marriott co-branded credit cards. Not a bad one-two punch.
What Purchases Qualify to Earn 5x Miles?
A lot.
According to the terms and conditions of this new Delta SkyMiles Amex Offer, eligible purchases include purchases via delta.com, the Fly Delta app, phone reservations, or ticket counters, such as upgrades, miles, seat selection, Delta Sky Club® membership, and in-flight purchases of food, alcoholic beverages and audio headsets on Delta-operated flights. Delta Purchases include Delta Vacations® packages but not other all-inclusive packages.
Other purchases may not qualify, like buying in-flight Wi-Fi or charitable contributions through Delta. Delta Gift Cards and purchases made at deltashop.com and/or the Delta Flight Museum do not qualify.
Once you add it to your card, you will have until Dec. 31, 2021, to take advantage of this offer to earn bonus SkyMiles. That's almost a year of earning 5x SkyMiles
Where to Find Amex Offers
If you haven’t used Amex Offers before, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called Amex Offers & Benefits (this is available through the Amex mobile app as well). If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card. You should receive a statement credit for the offer within a few days of making a purchase.
This offer should be available on both the personal and business versions of the Delta Gold, Platinum, and Reserve SkyMiles cards. The Blue Delta SkyMiles card will not have this offer.
