Singapore is the world’s reigning top airline with one of the best business class cabins out there. But after a recent increase in award rates, it’s priced accordingly.

Normally it costs 95,000 miles to fly one way from the U.S. to Singapore. But thanks to Singapore Airlines’ latest “Spontaneous Escapes” promotion, you can book it at a steep discount.

You can fly from San Francisco (SFO) to Singapore (SIN) in business class for just 66,500 miles – a 30% discount and a steal for that long journey. But it’s only eligible for travel in May, and you only have until April 30 to book at these rates.

So book soon and start making your plans for visiting the iconic Raffles Hotel and exploring Singapore’s hawker centers full of delicious food.

Singapore Airlines’ business class is on many travelers’ bucket lists for a reason. The cabins are gorgeous, the seats are insanely spacious, and the food is incredible. There may be no better way to cross the Pacific Ocean than with a 28-inch wide seat that converts into a full bed.  Read our full review of a recent flight on Singapore Airlines from Singapore (SIN) to Los Angeles (LAX) – the same seats you’d have with this deal.

To underscore just how good of a deal this is, consider what you’d pay in cash for this flight: At least $2,800!

This flight makes a short pit-stop in Hong Kong (HKG) to refuel. But it’s a great way to break up the long journey.

Unfortunately, this SFO-SIN flight is the only route to or from the U.S. that’s on sale – so act fast if this is on your list, because the award space may disappear fast.

But there are plenty of other discounted routes around the world in economy, premium economy, and business class. Head to the Spontaneous Escapes promo page to scope out the full list.

Getting Singapore Airlines Miles

If you’re thinking to yourself “If only I had a stash of Singapore miles,” don’t worry. There’s an easy way to get a boatload of them.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles are some of the easiest in the world to collect. If you’ve got points with Chase, American Express, Citi, Marriott, or Capital One, you’re set.

All five currencies can be transferred directly to your Singapore account. With the launch of transferable partners earlier this month, Capital One is the newest addition. But those points transfer at a 2:1 ratio, so it’s not your best bet.

Instead, look at cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred. With a 60,000 point bonus after spending $4,000 in the first three months, you’d have nearly enough to book a one-way flight in business class to Los Angeles. That big bonus and the ability to transfer to airlines like Singapore are why we consider it the best card for getting started in miles and points.

Or check out the Platinum Card from American Express card. Its $550 annual fee means it isn’t for everyone. But a rich set of benefits can more than offset that fee, including unbeatable lounge access, $100 for a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck enrollment, $200 in travel credits, and another $200 in free Uber rides. The standard, 60,000-point welcome bonus will get you enough to book business class after you factor in the $5,000 you have to spend within the first three months to get it. But see if you’re eligible for an outstanding 100,000-point bonus!

Of course, it’s too late to open a new credit card for the purposes of getting in on this promotion. But if you’ve got any of these cards – or want to get on the next discounted sale – this is the way to go.

Bottom Line

Flying Singapore’s business class is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Doing it for just 66,500 miles is the best price you may ever find.

How do you transfer the points from Chase sapphire to singapore miles? Do I have to pay a fee to transfer it?
I was late to notice that there was a fee in transferring points to another account like AA to another AA account I thought it was the value of the points but it ended up to be the fee it was crazy. 50K mileage transferred fee was 400!
