These unadvertised flash sales are one of the benefits of Delta not having an award chart. This is the third unadvertised sale we’ve found in as many months.

This deal starts at 12,000 SkyMiles round-trip but there is limited departure cities available at this price point. Cancun appears to have the best availability. There are taxes and fees from $60 – $100 but these are standard taxes for international award tickets, and a nominal fee considering many of these tickets go for $500+.

Delta Mexico Flash Sale

Availability from Minneapolis to Cancun

Bottom Line

This is an incredible deal with great availability. Mileage programs tend to devalue over time so make sure to burn those SkyMiles.

  1. Works to Mexico City as well. Taxes/fees are a bit higher. 13k miles + $111.44.

  2. Steven M says:

I just bought a $99 o/w ticket from NYC to MEX for next week so IDK why I’d burn miles when airfare is currently so low on this route. So maybe this unadvertised sale is a way of moving unsold inventory.

    • ThriftyTraveler says:

This deal may not appear to provide value out of NYC but there are plenty of other departure cities where the value is significant.

  3. tassojunior says:

The 5 week view is not working for reward flights and it is only valid on roundtrips.

It’s awful going through every possible combination of dates one at a time.

  4. Sundi says:

This is jacked. Why can I NEVER find a deal in Atlanta? I don’t get why Delta wouldn’t offer this deal for their home state.

    • ThriftyTraveler says:

Typically ATL is included on these Delta sales. You are correct that Atlanta, Charlotte, and Phoenix are the hardest cities to find flight deals from.

      • Scott says:

I would guess that all flights to these destinations are usually filled with people from places other than Georgia

  5. Pari says:

Was able to book to Cancun from Atlanta for 22k miles first week of November, $571 w/o sky miles.
