American Express has added a great new offer to get you a few bucks back on your cell phone bill this spring.
The new Amex Offer gives enrolled cardholders a $5 statement credit for every $75 or $125 spent on your cell phone bill which can be used up to 4 times for a total savings of $20.
This offer is a statement credit that is valid through June 10, 2022. Simply pay your bill with your enrolled American Express card and the $5 monthly statement credit will kick in automatically.
You are limited to 4 statement credits of $5, totaling $20 between now and June 10, 2022, if you enroll. There appears to be an offer for both $125 and $75 of required spending to earn the statement credit. Also, the offer is targeted so it won't be available for all users. However, we were able to pull it up on our Platinum Card® from American Express and our American Express® Gold Card.
The Amex Offer only applies to payments made to U.S. wireless telephone providers, which excludes third parties or resellers. According to the American Express website, the following service providers will be eligible for the credit.
Amex says this is not a complete list, but notably, when Amex offered temporary wireless credits for cardholders in 2020 to help weather the pandemic, Google Fi service was not eligible for the statement credit, and I imagine that will be the case with this Amex Offer as well.
Where to Find Amex Offers
If you haven’t used Amex Offers before, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called Amex Offers & Benefits (this is available through the Amex mobile app as well).
If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card. You should receive a statement credit for the offer within a few days of making a purchase.

These offers change almost daily, so add this one now before it disappears.
This offer was not listed on either my AMEX Platinum card or my AMEX Delta Gold card, so I called AMEX. They found the offer on my AMEX Hilton Honors Surpass card. It would be nice for AMEX to offer a search feature to locate specific offers across all registered credit cards.
