Is a family trip to Scandinavia on your bucket list? Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is offering basically free airline tickets to Scandinavia for up to eight kids aged 11 and younger when you buy an adult ticket. But you have to buy before tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 27.
SAS calls it the “Travelers Start Young” promo, and it was first reported by The Points Guy. You must travel between Nov. 1 and Dec. 1, 2019, or Jan. 8 and March 25, 2020. You will only pay only the taxes and fees for the kid's airfare – depending on the destination, this can run between $60 to $90 round-trip.
What U.S. Cities Does SAS Fly From?
SAS has seven U.S. gateways with flights to Scandinavia:
- Boston (BOS)
- Washington, D.C.-Dulles (IAD)
- Miami (MIA)
- Chicago-O'Hare (ORD)
- San Francisco (SFO)
- Newark (EWR)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
This promotion will work for any SAS destination in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden from any of the departure cities listed above. If any of these locations are on your bucket list for your family, now might be the time to pull the trigger as the savings can be massive.
The promotion is valid in SAS Go, which includes meals but advanced seat assignment is extra, Go Light which includes a free checked bag, and SAS Plus, which is their Premium economy service with more legroom, wider seats, and adjustable headrests and footrests.

As you can see, the two children I added on the itinerary will only cost $88.17. As mentioned above, the taxes and fees will differ based on your destination.
