Southwest Airlines is out with yet another big sale, selling flights throughout the U.S. from just $31 each way – or just 1,200 Rapid Rewards points!

With this latest Southwest sale, you can book deeply discounted Southwest flights during the following travel windows this summer, fall, and winter:

  • Aug. 6 to Dec. 18 for flights within the continental U.S.
  • Aug. 20 to Dec. 17 for Hawaii and Puerto Rico flights

This sale could be your cheap ticket for a Labor Day weekend trip to Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), or Phoenix (PHX) or a visit to anywhere Southwest flies! But no matter where you're at, you'll need to act fast: This sale ends at 11:59 p.m. PST this Thursday, June 13.

This sale is rare because it offers 50% off almost every Southwest route during the sale dates, with just a few blackout dates to be wary of. Whether you have a trip in mind or already have a Southwest flight on the books, it's worth checking to see if you can take advantage of this sale.

One thing to note: The blackout dates for this sale are around Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30 & Sept. 2) and Thanksgiving (Nov. 22-27, and Nov. 29-Dec. 2).

Plus, now that Southwest fares appear on Google Flights, you can search for these fares using the world's best airfare search engine! The sale flight prices are showing up automatically in Google Flights, meaning you likely won't have to use the promo code “BDAY” to search for and book these flights. Just follow the Google Flights links to book directly with Southwest.

You can also head straight to the Southwest sale page, pull up Southwest's Low Fare Calendar, and get a month-long view to find the best deals. Use promo code “BDAY” to have the best fares appear, although they've been populating automatically as of Tuesday morning.

Already have a Southwest flight booked for later this year? You can easily rebook it online and pocket the difference as a Southwest credit – and those never expire!

The deals vary from airport to airport, but you'll see the $31 rates on the cheapest Wanna Get Away fares for Southwest's shorter, nonstop routes.

The easiest way to put it to use is for a cheap, nonstop flight to one of Southwest's major airports like Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), or Phoenix (PHX): We alerted Thrifty Traveler Premium members to some dirt-cheap fares from tons of U.S. cities from $62 roundtrip!

Nonstop roundtrip flights to the Southwest U.S. don't get much cheaper than this!

LA to Vegas

And since using Southwest Rapid Rewards points hinges on the cash price, these lower fares mean you could get an even better deal using points and miles to book a Southwest flight this spring, summer, or fall. You can also snag these same flights for just 3,600 Rapid Rewards points roundtrip!

LAX to LAS rapid rewards

Plus, right now you can sign up for one of Southwest's Rapid Rewards credit cards for a sign-up bonus of up to 85,000 points! That's about 40 roundtrips to L.A. or Vegas if you so choose.

Southwest is also a Chase transfer partner, so you can send Chase points from cards like the *chase sapphire preferred* to get the Southwest points you need to book these award flights.
