Capital One Venture Card Welcome Offer

The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is now offering 60,000 Venture miles after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months of card membership.

So what does 60,000 Venture miles get you? A lot of travel.

Capital One has one of the easiest ways to use these miles toward travel. It’s called the Purchase Eraser, and it works like this: Just put any travel expense on your Venture card, log into your account, and use Venture miles to cover your expenses.

Every mile is worth one cent, so that means 60,000 miles are worth $600 in flights, hotels, and more. But you can also use these miles to cover travel expenses that you can’t typically cover with points and miles, like Airbnb, train travel, cruises, etc.

Thrifty Tip #1: Want to maximize the value of your Capital One Venture miles? See our guide on six great ways to utilize them effectively.

A Reasonable Annual Fee

The Capital One Venture Card carries an annual fee of $95. Unfortunately, Capital One no longer waives this fee for the first year.

But with at least $600 toward travel and other benefits you’ll see below, it’s easily worth that price tag.

$100 Application Fee Credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck:

In June 2018, Capital One added a credit for either Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.

If you apply for either Global Entry or TSA PreCheck and pay with the card, the application cost will be reimbursed (currently $100 for Global Entry and $85 for TSA PreCheck). You are eligible to receive this credit once every four years, and membership in both programs lasts a full five years.

Thrifty Tip #2: Since Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck, it should be your choice. See our guide on how to sign up for the program from start to finish.

Already have Global Entry or TSA PreCheck? You can use this credit to cover the application for a friend or family member! Just pay for their application with your Venture card and you’re set!

Earn 2x Capital One Venture Miles on All Purchases

One of the best perks of the Venture card is how easy it is to rack up miles.

You will earn 2x Capital One Venture Miles on all spending, with no limit on how much you can earn. That makes the Venture card a great card for your everyday expenses. Keep in mind, each mile can be redeemed for one cent toward the cost of travel using the Capital One Purchase Eraser.

That’s an unbeatable return, as few credit cards offer more than 1x points on all spending. But Capital One has recently added new bonus categories to the Venture card.

Fly Any Airline & Stay at Any Hotel

Because of the way Capital One Venture Miles work, you are not tied down to using them with one airline or one hotel chain.

You can redeem them for travel on any airline or at any hotel with no blackout dates. When you use your Venture miles to cover airfare, you won’t get stuck paying additional taxes or fees – those are included, as you’re simply buying flights and wiping the cost from your statement with your miles. And yes, you’ll even earn airline miles on your free flight!

Better yet, the miles will never expire for the life of the account and there is no limit on the amount of them you can earn.

All you need to do is use the Captial One Purchase Eraser to remove the charge from your statement. Read our guide on exactly how to do it!

Airline Transfer Partners

Back in December 2018, Captial One added the ability to transfer Venture Miles to different airline partners. And more recently, Capital One added some hotel transfer partners, too.

Venture miles will transfer to 11 airlines and two hotel chains at a ratio of 2:1.5 (2 Venture Miles equals 1.5 airline miles) and at a ratio of 2:1 (2 Venture Miles equals 1 airline mile) for Singapore Airlines and Emirates. Here’s the full listing of the Capital One Venture transfer partners.

No Foreign Transaction Fees

The Capital One Venture Card doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees. That makes it is a great option for purchases during your international travels – whenever international travel resumes, anyway.

Bottom Line

The Captial One Venture Rewards Credit Card is already one of the best travel rewards credit cards for beginners because of how easy it is to use the Venture miles the card earns. But to earn a stash of 60,000 miles for your future travels? That’s tough to beat.

Add in the Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Credit and other perks at a $95 annual fee, and it’s an amazing option for anyone looking to get started in the world of points and miles.
