No flight search engine can compare to the power and versatility of the web giant's flight platform. But that's not all Google's doing to help you travel: It's got tools to find cheap accommodations and plan and stay organized on the road.

And now, Google is making it even easier to plan your entire trip in one spot. The Google Flights landing page just got a makeover, and now includes all of the Google tools you need to plan your travels.

 

What's New with Google Flights

The functionality of Google Flights, the best way to find the cheapest flight possible, hasn't changed.

But what has changed is what you can access from the Google Flights landing page. Now, instead of just the flight-searching tool, you can access three more Google travel tools: Google Flights Explore, Google Hotels,  Google Packages, and Google Trips.

Google Flights

At google.com/flights, you can enter your departure city (or cities) and destination city (or up to six cities), and dates to search for flights. There's so much here that you can do, so here are our best resources to become a pro:

 

Google Flights Explore

If you've never harnessed the power of Google Flights Explore, prepare for your world to be rocked.

The Explore tool, easily accessible from the Google Flights landing page, allows you to leave your destination open and search for the cheapest prices into all airports worldwide. If you just need a cheap getaway and don't care where you go, Google Flights Explore is a gamechanger.

Google Trips

We love the Google Trips app for organizing all travel reservations and confirmation numbers, getting ideas for day trips and itineraries, and bookmarking top destinations and dining options. Now, you can do all of that on Google Flights' homepage. Click “Trips” on the top left hand corner, and you'll get access to the Google Trips tool.

Google Trips includes:

 

  • Reservations: flight reservations, hotel confirmations, and any other bookings you made with your Google account (Gmail required for automatic syncing).
  • Things to Do: Top-rated and reviewed attractions and destinations in the cities you're heading to.
  • Day Plans: Suggested itineraries for your trip length.
  • When to Visit: Information on which months are the most popular for this destination, and temperature and climate information.

 

 

The addition of Google Trips to the Google Flights ecosystem makes Google your one-stop shop for all things travel.

 

Google Hotels

Google recently rolled out its Google Hotels tool, and now it's even easier to access. On the left-hand sidebar of the Google Flights homepage, you can now search Google Hotels from the same place you search for flights.

Because Google now offers both a flight and hotel searching tool, it only makes sense that they add Google Packages. However, generally speaking, we recommend searching for your flights and your accommodations separately first, then comparing to see if you can save some cash.

It may seem like a small detail, but Google's move to bring all their travel tools into one space is big news for travelers.

From flights to hotels and travel planning, Google is only getting more powerful for travelers. And utilizing all these tools just got even easier. We're not mad about it.
