With restaurants around the country closed for dining in, we're all ordering delivery a lot more than usual. And now Chase is helping you earn even more points while supporting your favorite local restaurants.
Starting today, Friday, April 10, Chase Sapphire and Chase Freedom cards will earn 5x points (or 5% cashback) on orders through DoorDash and Tock, two popular food delivery platforms. The promotional bonuses run through May 31 for up to $500 of orders. The Points Guy first reported the new bonus.
That means you can earn up to 2,500 extra Chase Ultimate Rewards points by paying with your Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve. With the Chase Freedom or Chase Freedom Unlimited card, you could earn up to $25 cashback – or convert that over to Chase points.
DoorDash is the smart choice here, as your Chase card already gets you benefits with DoorDash after some new perks were added earlier this year. Chase Sapphire cardholders can get up to two years of free deliveries and lower service fees thanks to a complimentary DashPass membership, while Chase Freedom cardholders get that membership for three months.
If you've got the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you have $60 in annual credits toward DoorDash order, too. That benefit was added earlier this year when Chase increased the annual fee by $100 up to $550 – though the bank is discounting annual fees for many renewing card members due to coronavirus.
Bottom Line
Why not earn some extra points on your dinner order? This is a great addition and an easy way to earn a few thousand points valuable Chase points. Use one of these Chase cards on your next order.
