One of the keys to racking up points and miles is to maximize every dollar you’re already spending. No matter how small the sum, you don’t want to leave points and miles on the table.

And though Delta SkyMiles can be confusing and difficult to use, they can be insanely valuable thanks to some super-cheap redemptions through great SkyMiles flash sales.

But there are also plenty of unique options to keep earning SkyMiles. Booking some upcoming travel accommodations? Why not earn some SkyMiles while you’re at it?

One of the easiest ways to earn Delta SkyMiles I’ve found is to book Airbnb accommodations through deltaairbnb.com to earn 1 SkyMile per dollar on your stay. Here’s how.

How to Earn SkyMiles on Your Airbnb Bookings

All you need to do to earn SkyMiles on your Airbnb bookings is log in to deltaairbnb.com with your Delta SkyMiles account. That’s right: you do not need a Delta credit card to earn SkyMiles through this Airbnb partner program. By using this Delta and Airbnb program, you’ll earn bonus SkyMiles for Airbnb bookings.

Step 1: Create a SkyMiles account if you don’t have one already. Simply create one for free on Delta’s homepage.

Step 2: Visit deltaairbnb.com when you’re looking to book an Airbnb.

Step 3: Once you’re on the deltaairbnb.com website, click “Book your Airbnb.”

Step 4: From here, you’ll enter your SkyMiles number in the box provided.

Step 5: You’ll be redirected to the Airbnb site. And from here, it’s just like any normal Airbnb search. Follow our tips to find the best Airbnb no matter where you’re headed. You do not need to book your Airbnb with a Delta co-branded credit card to earn the SkyMiles through this program.

Thrifty Tip: New To Airbnb? Sign up using our link and you will receive $40 towards your first stay (we will get $20 as well).

Step 6: You’ll earn 1 SkyMile for every dollar you spend on your Airbnb booking.

This is a great opportunity to stack different rewards and earn even more points! I signed up with my Chase Sapphire Preferred card because it earns 2x Chase Ultimate Rewards points on travel-related costs, like an Airbnb booking. Read more about the Chase Sapphire Preferred

So on a $250 Airbnb reservation, I’d earn 500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points and 250 Delta SkyMiles!

Important Things to Know

  • There is no minimum spend required to earn SkyMiles
  • You won’t earn SkyMiles on any taxes and fees you pay.
  • This offer is only valid when originating from deltaairbnb.com, so be sure to start your Airbnb search there.

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for easy ways to increase your SkyMiles balance, booking your travel accommodations on deltaairbnb.com is a great addition to your strategy. While 1 SkyMiles per dollar isn’t incredible, these points add up quick! Using the free Delta and Airbnb program is an easy, passive way to earn more SkyMiles.

    Hi There!
Do you know if there is a way to combine my current AirBnb profile with the Delta AirBnB account? I have a great rating that I have built up over years of using my regular account and I have 3 big AirBnb trips planned for this summer, I would love if I could earn points on those too!

No need to create a new account! You just need to link your existing Airbnb account with your SkyMiles account. But unfortunately, you can’t earn a SkyMiles on those existing reservations you already have booked.
