One of the keys to racking up points and miles is to maximize every dollar you're already spending. No matter how small the sum, you don't want to leave points and miles on the table.
And though Delta SkyMiles can be confusing and difficult to use, they can be insanely valuable thanks to some super-cheap redemptions through great SkyMiles flash sales.
But there are also plenty of unique options to keep earning SkyMiles. Booking some upcoming travel accommodations? Why not earn some SkyMiles while you're at it? One of the easiest ways to earn Delta SkyMiles I've found is to book Airbnb accommodations through deltaairbnb.com.
All you need to do is log in to deltaairbnb.com with your Delta SkyMiles account. You do not need a Delta credit card to earn SkyMiles through this Airbnb partner program. And by booking through the Delta Airbnb portal, SkyMiles members can earn 1 mile for every dollar spent on stays worldwide.
And since Airbnb doesn't have a loyalty program of its own, it's a great way to get rewarded for spending you are already doing.
Read on for a full guide on how to earn Skymiles for your next stay.
Step 1: Create a Delta SkyMiles Account
If you don't already have one, you'll need to create a free Delta SkyMiles account. Simply head to Delta's website to enroll. The process only takes a few minutes and your miles will never expire. And make sure to read our guide on the best ways to earn Delta SkyMiles.
Step 2: Visit deltaairbnb.com to Book Your Airbnb
Once you have your SkyMiles account set up and ready to go, simply head to deltaairbnb.com to make your Airbnb booking. Click the “Book Your Airbnb” button pictured below.
From here you will be prompted to enter your Delta SkyMiles account number in the box provided and click “Continue to Airbnb.”
Step 3: Book Your Airbnb
You'll be redirected to the Airbnb site. And from here, it's just like any normal Airbnb search. So make sure to follow our tips to find the best Airbnb no matter where you're headed.
You do not need to book your Airbnb with a Delta co-branded credit card to earn the SkyMiles through this program. However, you will need an Airbnb account. And if you don't already have one, you can sign up using our link and you will receive $40 towards your first stay and $15 towards an Airbnb Experience (we will get $20 as well).
Step 4: Earn 1 SkyMile for Every Dollar You Spend
Booking an Airbnb through the Delta portal is a great opportunity to earn more points for spending you are already doing. As mentioned, you'll earn 1 SkyMiles for every dollar you spend, but you won't earn miles on any taxes and fees you pay. That means if your Airbnb costs $400 for your stay, you would earn 400 Delta SkyMiles. These would be in addition to any points earned from the credit card you use to make the purchase.
And since you don't need to use a co-branded Delta credit card to make the booking, you could use a card like the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or either the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve – some of the best credit cards for booking Airbnb.
Make sure to check out our post on the top credit card offers.

Is there somewhere on the portal to book an AirBnb experience vs stay?
I have a delta platinum card which supposedly earns 3x’s the points of dollars spent. What if I book through the Airbnb Delta link AND use the delta platinum card to book? Does that mean that $1000 spent will yield me 4000 points total? 1x’s for booking through the link plus 3x’s the points for using the Delta Platinum card? I am having trouble getting an answer from Amex & Delta on this.
Does AirBnB raise the price on bookings made through this delta partnership website?
Not to our knowledge. It should be the same price you’ll pay directly through Airbnb.
How long until I see the miles on my account ?
Hi,
I’m thinking about getting a Delta Skymiles card. If i only paid half of my Airbnb and haven’t been charged for the other half yet. If i use my Delta Skymiles card will it give me points for the second card of the Airbnb?
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your message! You actually don’t need a SkyMiles card to link your Airbnb: you just need a free SkyMiles account — enter your frequent flyer number at deltaairbnb.com (full step by step guide in article above). You’ll need to visit deltaairbnb.com before booking to get the points through the partnership, but you can certainly pay for the other half of the Airbnb with a Delta SkyMiles card to earn SkyMiles from that purchase. Hope this helps!
Hi There!
Do you know if there is a way to combine my current AirBnb profile with the Delta AirBnB account? I have a great rating that I have built up over years of using my regular account and I have 3 big AirBnb trips planned for this summer, I would love if I could earn points on those too!
Thanks!
Emily
Emily,
No need to create a new account! You just need to link your existing Airbnb account with your SkyMiles account. But unfortunately, you can’t earn a SkyMiles on those existing reservations you already have booked.
