London is calling, and Delta’s latest SkyMiles flash sale will get you there for cheap. You can fly into London-Heathrow (LHR) and back starting at just 32,000 SkyMiles round-trip!

This is another one of Delta’s advertised SkyMiles flash sales. But as usual, we found it’s far larger than advertised, with flights available from January through April and even longer. Big or small, nearly every airport with Delta service can get in on this deal at 44,000 SkyMiles round trip or less.

Considering most airlines charge at least 30,000 miles for a one-way flight to Europe, it could be an absolute steal. Just act fast, as Delta says these rates will expire at midnight on Thursday, Jan. 10.

Delta SkyMiles Sale London

This deal is the same price as a slightly broader sale on flights to Europe from last month. And cash prices are relatively low on many of these flights to London during this period, at $600 or less. So it could make more sense to buy the flight outright if you’ve got the money or don’t have enough SkyMiles.

But at these rates, it’s a great way to use your SkyMiles. Many domestic flights will set you back at least 32,000 SkyMiles round trip. And getting to Europe for anything under 50,000 miles on another airline is absolutely unheard of.

Keep in mind that because you’re flying in and out of London, there are some unavoidable cash fees attached to your ticket. In this case, expect to pay about $180 or so, as London-Heathrow (LHR) charges some of the heftiest airport surcharges in the world. But compared to other airlines that pass on $500 or more in fees, that’s pretty palatable.

And best of all, availability at these rates is wide open through the winter and spring. If London is on your wish list for 2019, it should be easy to find dates that work at a discounted rate. Be sure to search your home airport and see what comes up!

London-Heathrow (LHR)

Our Analysis

This isn’t the best SkyMiles flash sale of all time. But if London is on your list, you might never find a cheaper way to get there.

It can be hard to snag a three-hour flight within the U.S. for 32,000 SkyMiles round-trip. A flight to Europe generally costs at least 60,000 SkyMiles – and often far more. So paying just 32,000 SkyMiles to fly to London is a fantastic deal.

Remember that award flights in and out of LHR will be hit with $180 or so in fees – an unavoidable reality of  London’s notoriously pricey Heathrow airport.

Delta SkyMiles Sale London

Bottom Line

These sales are one of the main reasons why we value SkyMiles more than most. Delta is often scorned because they don’t use an award chart, making it difficult to determine how many miles you should be using for a flight. But that freedom also allows Delta to put flights on sale for far cheaper rates than competitors can offer.

So take advantage and fly to London for 32,000 SkyMiles round trip!
