American Express just can't help itself in offering eye-popping welcome bonuses to lure in new customers. Now, travelers who are eligible for a small business credit card (and trust us, that might include you) can get a mammoth bonus on the bank's flagship business card.

Amex recently rolled out a bigger bonus offer on The Business Platinum Card® from American Express: bonus_miles_full. While it requires even more spending to earn, that's up from the previous norm of 120,000 points.

Bonuses of 200,000 or 250,000 points have become more and more common – not by applying straight with Amex or through a site like ours, but via referrals, opening links in an incognito, and targeted emails or pop-ups online. And it seems another round of elevated offers are currently floating around.

Welcome bonuses this big are incredibly hit-or-miss: We haven't had any luck getting the 250,000-point offer for ourselves. Still, this bonus of 200,000 points, with the same spending requirement, isn't half bad!

Amex Business Platinum 200k offer

Whether it's 150,000, 250,000, or somewhere in between, these are all truly massive bonuses that are worth your attention. But keep in mind, spending $20,000 or more in three months is no small matter. Credit cards are serious business: You should never apply for a credit card if you’re already in debt, and never charge more to a credit card than you can afford to pay off immediately.

But if you have a small business and can manage this kind of spending responsibly, this is a fantastic way to earn a ton of points with one of our favorite small business cards. Much like *amex platinum* available to everyday travelers, the Business Platinum Card packs a huge punch with great travel benefits.

That includes Amex Centurion Lounge access and a free pass into Delta Sky Clubs® (though keep in mind Sky Club access is changing Feb. 1, 2025); an annual $200 airline incidental credit; a credit for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry; and more.

But the Business Platinum Card takes things a step further with added credits like up to $400 in annual credits at Dell.com (until June 30) and one of our favorite perks of all: A 35% rebate when using points through Amex Travel to book with the domestic airline of your choice – or any first or business class flight.

It's worth noting that some of these benefits could be changing in the not-so-distant future.

One would rightly assume that a card with a nearly $700 annual fee would see some additions if multiple credits are subtracted. But that uncertainty actually makes now a really good time to pick the card up.

These kind of benefit changeovers typically present an opportunity for cardholders to double dip: using the old credits before they expire as well as and new additions … all while paying the same annual fee in year one.

Who is This Offer Right For?

This is a fantastic offer that deserves the attention of any small business owner. A $20,000 spending requirement in three months might feel steep, but earning 150,000 points (or more!) is tough to beat.

The card's $695 annual fee certainly won't be right for everyone but with so many different travel and business credits, it's possible to come out well ahead by the end of the year. If you can regularly take advantage of the added travel perks like hotel elite status, airport lounge access, and the complimentary CLEAR Plus membership, that can make the math work even more in your favor.

Just to emphasize how good this offer is, the only other card we've seen in this territory is the Capital One Venture X Business. With the current offer, new cardmembers can earn bonus_miles_full. This is a really good offer on it's own, but it also requires spending $10,000 more than what Amex is requiring with the Business Platinum.

As tempting as this offer might be, if your business doesn't typically spend an average of $7,000 per month or more, you might be better off looking at some other fantastic business card offers with a more tolerable spending requirement.
