Struggling to schedule an interview to finalize your Global Entry registration? Today could be your lucky day.
Global Entry is one of the most powerful tools to get through the airport faster – first, to skip through security thanks to a TSA PreCheck® benefit, then clear immigration within minutes after returning from an international trip. But getting signed up can be a pain: There are often months-long delays in processing applications followed by the hunt for an in-person appointment to finalize enrollment. Snagging an interview in some cities can be torture, leading to the rise of paid services to help you find one.
But something has changed. We're currently seeing widespread Global Entry appointments nationwide over the next month or two – more availability than we've seen in years, if ever. While you won't find wide-open interview availability at every single major hub across the country, there's enough here that it could help travelers stuck in limbo finally get across the finish line.

Where You Can Currently Book a Global Entry Appointment
Before we dive into Global Entry interview availability, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First things first: These appointments can go fast. Everything we're showing here is what's available as of publication Thursday morning. Check hours (or even minutes) later, and you might see something entirely different. And while you might be hoping for an appointment to wrap up your Global Entry enrollment this week or next, it's still worth snagging a slot as early as you can later this summer or even in the early fall.
All that said: You're spoiled for choice right now. From coast to coast, we're seeing tons of appointment availability.
For example, it's rare to see much interview availability whatsoever in Atlanta (ATL). Currently, though, you can book an appointment as soon as next week … and all the way through late September! In Miami (MIA), there's availability yet this week and all the way through mid-September.
Same goes for West Coasters like those in San Francisco (SFO), where finding even a single available appointment has been a rarity over the last few years. Yet you can book an appointment on most weekends in August, much of September, and all the way through November right now!
There are also plenty of appointments available at Los Angeles (LAX) and at the border enrollment center in San Diego.
Up in Seattle (SEA), there are plenty of appointments to pick from later this month and next.
We're accustomed to seeing a grayed-out calendar at our home airport of Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP), yet you can book an appointment almost every day through September.
Ditto for Chicago-O'Hare (ORD), where appointment availability is wide open through the end of the month. Chicagoans who don't want to schlep out to the airport can also snag a slot later this month at the enrollment center downtown on Canal Street.
On the East Coast, most major airports have widespread availability, including:
- Newark (EWR) with tons of appointments through the end of the month
- New York City (JFK) is wide-open this month and next
- Washington, D.C.-Dulles (IAD) has appointments available almost every day starting today through November
- Washington, D.C.'s in-town enrollment center (near the White House) has plenty of appointments open through early September
- Boston (BOS) availability opens up in late September, running all the way through the end of the year
If you live near any of these airports or they fit into your travel plans, read our lips: Schedule your appointment now, and ask questions later! These appointments often get snapped up quickly, so lock something in now – you can worry about trying to move up your Global Entry interview later.
Other Tips to Find a Global Entry Interview
Are these airports with appointments open not doing it for you? Don't worry: We've got a few other tips and tricks up our sleeve.
- Pay a service like Appointment Scanner to find you an appointment. I signed up for this service last year to renew my Global Entry. I'm not exaggerating: Four minutes later, I had an appointment booked.
- Take a road trip! While many of the nation's largest airports are fully booked, there are dozens of enrollment centers in more remote areas of the country with wide-open interview availability.
- Use Enrollment on Arrival, which allows you to quickly do your Global Entry interview while clearing customs and immigration on your way back into the states.
- Renewing your Global Entry? Opt for a remote interview via Zoom instead … if you even need an interview at all.
Bottom Line
This is your golden chance to lock in an in-person interview to finalize your Global Entry enrollment at many major airports across the country.
Unfortunately, not every major population center lucked out with a wide swath of appointments open this time around. But if something works for you, act fast – these interview slots are sure to disappear soon.
