Capital One on Tuesday announced a brand new partnership with Uber, giving travelers with several Capital One Savor cards big savings on Uber and Uber Eats – plus a complimentary Uber One membership. At the same time, the bank is giving travelers with the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card a complimentary membership with the luxury travel brand PRIOR.

Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card, card_name, Capital One SavorOne Student, and Quicksilver Student cardholders can now earn an unlimited 10% cash back on Uber and Uber Eats through Nov. 14, 2024. They'll get a complimentary Uber One membership, too, providing unlimited $0 delivery fees on eligible food, groceries, and other Uber Eats orders. You'll also get up to 10% off eligible orders with Uber Eats and rides with Uber through Nov. 14, 2024.

Eligible cardholders can enroll for an Uber One monthly membership in the Uber or Uber Eats app, or on Uber's dedicated websites for each platform. Once you set an eligible Capital One card as a form of payment for Uber One, you'll receive a monthly statement credit to cover the membership cost through Nov. 14, 2024.

While travelers with the bank's top-tier travel card won't benefit from that new partnership, Capital One has something else in store. Capital One launched another new partnership with the luxury travel brand PRIOR. As part of that partnership, Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card members will get a complimentary PRIOR subscription (valued at $149 a year) with access to their library of global travel guides, a twice-weekly newsletter, early bookings to their suite of luxury travel experiences, and access to exclusive trips which will be bookable through Capital One Entertainment.

Both partnerships, which officially launched today, are valid all the way through Nov. 14, 2024.

Our Analysis

Capital One makes it easier to combine points and miles than any other bank. That means if you have a Capital One Venture or Venture X Card, and one of the cash back credit cards eligible to earn 10% cash back on Uber and Uber Eats purchases through November 14, 2024, this is a great deal.

You can easily turn that cash back earned into valuable Capital One Venture Miles which will ultimately make them worth more.

Seeing as the SavorOne Card earns an unlimited 3% cash back on dining, entertainment, and grocery stores (excluding superstores like Walmart® and Target®), and popular streaming services, this new Uber partnership makes it a very valuable addition for Venture or Venture X cardholders – especially since it doesn't charge an annual fee.

Our team is unfamiliar with PRIOR so it's hard to say if the complimentary $149 subscription for Venture X cardholders has any value. That said, it's free for the next two years if you hold the Venture X card, so it may be worth trying it out if you hold the card. You'll just need to remember to cancel your membership before Nov. 14, 2024 if you don't want to renew at the full $149 subscription cost.

It's worth noting that using your Capital One miles to book PRIOR experiences through Capital One Entertainment is a poor value, and largely shouldn't be considered.

For travelers racking up Venture Rewards miles on cards like the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, Every mile is worth 0.8 cents through Capital One Entertainment. That means for every $100, it will cost you 12,500 miles in the Capital One Entertainment portal.

That falls a bit short of the value you get using Capital One miles to remove travel purchases, and the Capital One Travel Portal, where every mile is worth 1 cent. Beyond that, it's far, far less than what you can squeeze out of Capital One transfer partners like Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, British Airways Avios, and more.

Bottom Line

Capital One has announced a new partnership with Uber, allowing select cardholders to earn an unlimited 10% cash back on Uber and Uber Eats, plus a complimentary Uber One membership.

Additionally, Capital One has launched a new partnership with the luxury travel brand, PRIOR – exclusively for Venture X cardholders. This partnership offers a complimentary PRIOR subscription (valued at $149) with access to their library of global travel guides, a twice-weekly newsletter, early bookings to their suite of luxury travel experiences, and more.

Both partnerships run through November 14, 2024.
