The *amex gold* is one of the most popular cards for travelers, thanks to a 4x bonus when you buy groceries or spend at restaurants. And now its most popular finish is back on the market: The Amex Rose Gold Card has officially returned – for good.

American Express announced the return of its rosiest card on Thursday. And a spokeswoman confirmed to Thrifty Traveler that it's available to both new applicants and existing cardholders who'd rather have their Gold Card look a bit rosier. If you've already got the Gold Card, just start a chat with Amex online and ask for a Rose Gold replacement.

The Rose Gold card has been almost inexplicably popular since American Express briefly offered it when it relaunched the Gold card back in 2018. As of Thursday morning, new applicants can now select between the traditional Gold and Rose Gold finish when applying for the card.

And American Express insists the Amex Rose Gold Card is back for good this time – permanently.

The relaunch of the Rose Gold option comes as Amex tweaks the benefits on the card. As of Feb. 4, the $100 annual airline fee credits are officially out – but don't worry if you got your Gold Card beforehand, you'll still have those credits to use on airline fees through the end of 2021.

Instead, Amex Gold cardholders now get $10 in monthly credits for Uber and Uber Eats for up to $120 each year.

Breaking Down the Amex Rose Gold Card

Rose Gold or standard Gold, we think the American Express Gold Card is the best all-around credit card out there, period.

And that starts with its biggest welcome bonus ever. bonus_miles_full But be sure to check if you qualify for a 75,000- point offer via CardMatch with the same spending requirement.

Earning 4x at U.S. supermarkets (on up to $25,000 of spending each year) makes the Gold Card a top contender for the best card when buying groceries. Ditto for restaurants, as it earns 4x at restaurants worldwide (up to $50,000 per year). Plus you'll also earn 3x points on flights booked directly with airlines or at amextravel.com

While the card comes with a $325 annual fee (see rates & fees), it doesn't take a math expert to see it's easily worth that cost. Add up the money-saving credits for Uber and dining with the bonus points you'll earn, and you can quickly come out ahead.

Is the Amex Gold Card worth its $325 annual fee?
