Capital One is continuing its nationwide expansion of Capital One Lounges, this time announcing plans for a space at the southeastern hub of Charlotte (CLT) in North Carolina.
According to a release from Capital One, the new space will span 14,000 square feet on the mezzanine level of Charlotte's Concourse A as part of major expansion at the airport. But the timeline is up in the air: A spokesperson for the bank said there was “no timing available yet.”
Construction has not yet begun, so don't expect this to open until late 2026 or 2027 … at the very earliest.

It'll be Capital One's sixth lounge, following locations in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Washington, D.C.-Dulles (IAD), Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), and most recently in New York City (JFK). Plus, the bank operates a hybrid restaurant-lounge space called a Capital One Landing in Washington, D.C.-Reagan (DCA), with another outpost in the works in New York City-LaGuardia (LGA).
Like every lounge that's ever been announced, Capital One promises a “regionally inspired” experience, including local food offerings and design in Charlotte. Like all lounges, all food and drink will be complimentary.
Capital One also promised tarmac views, a full-service coffee bar, and workspaces will be included in the space. But beyond that, the bank didn't hint at any special amenities or attributes like the cheesemonger station in JFK or exercise room in Dallas.
While the bank has struggled to keep pace with competitors like Chase and American Express in building out lounges, Capital One has undoubtedly raised the bar in the airport lounge wars. To a tee, they're tranquil, well-designed spaces with top-notch food and drinks – both complimentary, of course – offering amenities you won't find in other U.S. airport lounges.
And while they've grown popular to a fault like all lounges, Capital One does a much better job controlling capacity to ensure a better experience once inside. Plus, joining a digital waitlist via smartphone means you don't need to stand in line to get inside.

A sixth location will be welcome news for travelers with the *venture x*, who get complimentary Capital One Lounge access. But the bank is making big changes to guest access soon.
- Effective Feb. 1, Venture X cardholders will have to pay $45 apiece for guests – or a discounted rate of $25 for children 17 and under. Kids under 2 years old will remain free. Only cardholders who charge a whopping $75,000-plus a year to their Venture X will retain free guest access
- What's more, the bank is also ending free lounge access for Venture X authorized users. You'll have to pay another $125 each year to extend lounge access to additional cardholders.
Bottom Line
Capital One's next lounge will open in Charlotte (CLT), the bank announced Thursday.
While we don't know when it will open or when construction will begin, the space will be part of the airport's Concourse A expansion on the mezzanine level.
