If you like to toast the start of a trip – or simply make a flight a little more enjoyable – T-Mobile has a new perk with your name on it on your next Delta flight.

That's right: T-Mobile customers can now get a free premium drink on every Delta flight they take. Considering most alcoholic beverages onboard cost $9 to $12, the savings could add up quickly — making this a perk that's likely to prove wildly popular with frequent flyers.

This is all thanks to T-Mobile's first-ever “Member Month” – but unlike many limited-time promotions, this benefit isn't a one-and-done offering. While it's limited to one per passenger, Delta passengers with T-Mobile service can continue getting one free drink year-round.

T-Mobile and Delta are even throwing a bash for customers in New York City the week of June 16, featuring live entertainment from “global icon and Delta Million Miler” T-Pain – because nobody buys a “drank” quite like T-Pain. T-Mobile is rolling out several other travel-related offers during Member Month, including $9 three-day airport parking through The Parking Spot, free Wi-Fi on Royal Caribbean cruises, a two-week vacation package courtesy of Delta, and more.

Here's what you need to know about this new benefit and how to take advantage of it on your next flight.

Thrifty Tip: Through June 30 (unless it's extended), Delta SkyMiles cardholders can also score a free premium snack to go with their drink!

How to Take Advantage of This New Benefit

In order to take advantage of this deal, you'll need to be an eligible T-Mobile customer and link your SkyMiles and T-Mobile accounts at least 24 hours ahead of your flight. There's no word on which T-Mobile plans are considered eligible, but most plans – especially the latest and greatest – should do the trick.

You can link your SkyMiles account to T-Mobile through the cellphone carrier's T-Life mobile app. So long as your accounts are linked ahead of time and you've got your SkyMiles number attached to your reservation, the flight attendant should recognize you're eligible for this perk when they go to ring you up.

It's probably worth confirming with your flight attendant ahead of time – especially your first time – and you may need to prove your eligibility through the T-Life app. This shouldn't be a problem, as most Delta flights offer free Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile.

What Premium Drinks Are Included?

This benefit exclusively covers Delta's menu of beer, wine, and spirits. Non-alcoholic offerings are already complimentary on Delta flights, so there's no savings to be had there.

Even if you don't imbibe in the hard stuff, you can use this benefit to brighten your travel buddy's day or even make friends with your seatmate.

While menus change and can vary from route to route, here's a look at what you can generally get with this new perk.

Other ‘Member Month' Travel Deals

While getting a free premium drink on Delta flights is the headliner of T-Mobile's Member Month – at least in my opinion – there are several other worthwhile deals to take advantage of … many of which are travel-related.

Here's a look at what else is available:

  • $1.99 Gas in Los Angeles, Houston, and Chicago: T-Mobile is rolling back prices for one day (week of June 9), offering gas for just $1.99 per gallon at select Shell stations in LA, Houston, and Chicago. And this perk isn’t just for T-Mobile members — everyone can fuel up while supplies last. Prepare for long lines – but hey, where else are you going to find gas for $1.99 per gallon these days?
  • T-Mobile Magenta Sky Lounge with Delta and T-Pain in NYC: To celebrate free premium drinks on Delta, T-Mobile is throwing an exclusive, one-night-only event for members in New York City (week of June 16).
  • Sweepstakes: Enter for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime getaway for four anywhere Delta flies, accommodations for 14 nights at a Hilton-branded property, along with extra cash to live it up (week of June 16).
  • $9 three-day airport parking via The Parking Spot and 20 cents off at Shell stations (week of June 16).
  • Expanded travel perks: Members can unlock even more savings, including up to 40% off hotels and rental cars, up to $2,500 in T-Mobile cruise credits, and exclusive partner perks with Hertz, Dollar, and more (week of June 23).
  • Free Wi-Fi on Royal Caribbean cruises booked through T-Mobile Travel (week of June 23).
  • Sweepstakes: Enter for a chance to win a Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix trip with flights and a four-night stay (week of June 23).

Other promos like 12 months of free DoorDash DashPass, discounts at QDOBA and Popeyes, a $20 Sam's Club membership, and a free Slurpee or Big-Gulp at 7-Eleven may catch the eye of others. Add it all up, and T-Mobile customers should pay close attention to their T-Life app throughout the month of June.

Bottom Line

We love perks that don't require jumping through hoops, and a free drink on every Delta flight certainly qualifies. Between this and the rest of T-Mobile's Member Month offers, the carrier is giving travelers plenty of reasons to raise a glass.

Your move, Verizon.
