There are plenty of good reasons and perks for even occasional Delta flyers to add a co-branded SkyMiles card to your wallet: free baggage (and not just a first, but a second bag free on domestic flights), a 15% discount on award tickets, credits toward rideshares and hotel stays and more. One of the sneakiest (and tastiest) perks just got a lifeline.

Delta just quietly extended a little-known benefit that allows all Delta SkyMiles cardholders to get a complimentary premium snack – a choice of Dot's Pretzels, Pringles, or Nerds Gummy Clusters – on select flights. That perk had been set to expire at the end of the month, but the terms and conditions now show it will run through Oct. 31 – another five months!

From the top-of-the-line *delta reserve card* to the no-annual-fee *delta blue*, every card qualifies. And this isn't a one-and-done benefit, either: You can log in and get a free snack on each and every eligible Delta flight – at least for the next few months (and perhaps longer) while this benefit is still being offered. I've personally taken advantage on every Delta flight I've taken in 2026.

The only real limitation is that it's only available on flights of 900 miles or more. That means one- or two-hour domestic flights won't qualify, but many longer domestic trips, especially cross-country flights, should be no problem. The same goes for most Delta routes down to Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean.

Not sure how long your upcoming Delta flight is? Plug the route into GCMap.com!

You don't even need your Delta card with you on the plane: Just log into the Wi-Fi with your SkyMiles account, and so long as your Amex card is attached to your account, you'll see the option to claim your premium snack. Click through, show your flight attendant the confirmation page as they walk down the aisle, let them know which snack you want, and enjoy.

This cardholder benefit was rolled out sometime late last year without a real announcement … or much fanfare. Most Delta cardholders still have no idea it exists.

Is a free bag of pretzels or candy from a credit card that might cost you $150 or more the best benefit in the world? Hardly. But it's a tangible, valuable benefit: These are big bags – not the tiny bags of Cheez-Its or (admittedly delicious) cookies everyone in economy gets for free.

They're substantial snacks that would cost you $7 to $10 or even more at the airport or on the plane.

Delta still says this is a “limited time” benefit for cardholders … but it's already been extended twice: It was originally set to end in late January 2026 before being pushed out to the midway point of the year. Now, it's been extended again through the end of October.

That's welcome news: We can all enjoy top-tier snacks on Delta flights for months to come. It'll be Dot's for me every time, thanks.

Beyond the snacks, now's an excellent time to grab a Delta card if you don't already have one in your wallet:

Bottom Line

You've got five more months of free snacks, Delta cardholders!

With any Delta SkyMiles card, you can get a free premium snack on any Delta-operated flight of 900 miles or more. After another extension, this benefit now runs all the way through Oct. 31.

Enjoy it while you can, travelers!
