Amex and Marriott have teamed up with an excellent new Amex Offer to help you save on an upcoming stay at Marriott's luxury brands in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Spend $500 or more at select Marriott properties and you'll get $200 right back as a statement credit, giving you up to 40% off a hotel stay. The terms of the Amex Offer show it's valid from today through Dec. 15, but that doesn't mean you have to complete your stay by that deadline: You could book a prepaid reservation rate for later in the year or even into 2024 and still put this offer to use.

Critically, this offer is only valid at the following Marriott Bonvoy hotels: The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, EDITION, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, and JW Marriott.

Amex Offer: Marriott Luxury Brands

While not nearly as lucrative, there's another Amex Offer floating around for 20% back on Marriott purchases, up to $50. This essentially means that you're getting 20% off your next Marriott purchase of up to $250. And the nice thing with this offer is that it's available at all the Marriott Brands that the other isn't.

20% off Marriott Amex Offer

Just like the offer for $200 back on $500 or more at Marriott's luxury brands, this 20% back offer is only valid in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the 20% offer isn't valid at luxury brands so you won't be able to double dip if you happen to be targeted for both.

If you haven't used Amex Offers before, think of them as digital coupons exclusively for Amex cardholders for purchases like airfare or hotels as well as dining, entertainment, or everyday shopping. Add this one to your Amex card, use that card to book an eligible Marriott stay, and Amex will give you money right back for the discount within a few days as a statement credit on your account.

Offers like this one are targeted, which means not every cardholder will see it. That said, this offer seems to be pretty widely available whether you've got the *amex gold card* or the *bonvoy brilliant*. Heck, members of our team even found it on no-annual fee cards like the *delta blue* and the *blue biz plus*.

Just log in to your American Express Account and if it's there, simply add it to your Amex card, and then use that Amex card to book a Marriott stay before Dec. 15. Once again, prepaid rates for later in the year or even in 2024 should still trigger this credit for an easy $200 in savings.

Got Marriott status through a credit card like *amex platinum card* or the *bonvoy brilliant*? Even better – that should carry over no problem to your reservation. So long as you pay with the card you've added this Amex Offer to, you're all set.

As with all Amex offers, you can reach the spending requirement over multiple transactions – there's no requirement you spend the full $500 in one fell swoop. Since this offer is only valid with Marriott's luxury brands, you shouldn't have any trouble hitting the $500 threshold if you're staying for more than one night.

However, if you find a cheap one-night Marriott stay this month and another in October or November, it will give you the credit after you cross the $500 threshold. Just keep in mind that only room rates and charges to your room count towards that $500 total to get a $200 statement credit back. This means that purchasing a gift card online for one of those brands won't trigger the offer.

Where to Find Amex Offers

If you haven’t used Amex Offers before, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called Amex Offers & Benefits. You can do this when logged into your Amex account on either the desktop version of the site or the mobile app.

If you're using the desktop version of the American Express website, you'll find Amex Offers about halfway down the homepage. Here, you can view all the Amex Offers that are currently available, see which ones you've already added to your card, and even review your lifetime savings with the Amex Offers program.

If you're logged in to your account on a mobile device using the Amex app, you'll find a tab at the bottom with all your available Amex Offers.

Just remember that if you have multiple Amex cards, you'll need to toggle through them all, as the offers will be different for each card. If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card. You should receive a statement credit for the offer within a few days of making a purchase.

Thrifty Tip: Amex displays a maximum of 100 offers at a time. If you're not seeing the one you want, try adding a handful to your card, logging out, and then logging back in to see if you get some new ones!

Bottom Line

This is a great new Amex Offer to save an easy $200 on an upcoming Marriott stay at one of six luxury brands.

While the offer is only valid through Dec. 15, you should have no problem booking a prepaid rate for a later date to trigger this credit – so long as you book before that deadline. But act fast: Amex Offers like these tend to disappear quickly as travelers gobble them up.

  • Nick, you know how heavily your audience uses the Delta Amex. Burying that info at the bottom of the article is… come on man.

  • Mine showed up and was linkable to my Bonvoy Brilliant card. So super easy to get this one completed with something already on the books.
