Qantas 737 vs Tesla Model S

Who doesn't like a highly dramatic video pitting a Qantas Boeing 737-800 aircraft against a Tesla Model S P90D electric car? Spoiler Alert: The 737 ultimately edges out the Tesla because, big surprise, it can fly. I'll admit the Tesla is very powerful with its two electric engines, which enable it to go from 0-60 MPH in a ludicrous 3 seconds!

Stats:

Tesla Model S P90D – Max speed 155 mph (0-60 MPH in 3 seconds!)

Qantas Boeing 737-800 – Takeoff speed 160 MPH

The purpose behind the video was to highlights Qantas (Australia’s national carrier) and Tesla's new partnership. During the coming months Qantas and Tesla will introduce the following services and benefits for customers:

  • Exclusive events for Qantas frequent flyers, enabling them to experience new Tesla vehicles and technology;
  • Qantas Club membership for Tesla Model S owners;
  • Tesla High Power Wall Connectors at Qantas Valet facilities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide allowing Model S owners to charge whilst they travel.
