Hyatt has just opened a new all-inclusive resort along a secluded stretch of land off Mexico's Caribbean coast just north of Cancún. If you've got Hyatt points, what could be better than eating and drinking in Mexico for a few days (or a week) for basically free this year?

We're seeing solid availability to book the new, adults-only Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres from March all the way through December 2024, using as few as 25,000 Hyatt points per night. It's the newest all-inclusive property in Hyatt's growing portfolio and a stellar way to use Hyatt points – or even transfer some Chase points from cards like the *chase sapphire preferred*.

Secrets Playa Blanca just opened its doors earlier this month, and some facilities like the spa, fitness center, and theatre aren't fully operational yet. That doesn't appear to have taken away from the experience though, as the hotel has already received some rave reviews.

Hyatt Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres award booking

Secrets Playa Blanca is one of Hyatt's Category D all-inclusive properties … which means you can book a standard stay for just 30,000 points per night. Thanks to Hyatt's peak- and off-peak pricing, nightly rates can go as low as 25,000 points per night or as high as 35,000 points nightly. You'll see plenty of dates bookable for 25,000 points per night from August through October, and even some in November. September through December appears to be the sweet spot for award availability, with rates ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 points per night.

With this much availability, you shouldn't have much trouble locking in a few days or more for a trip to Costa Mujeres using World of Hyatt points. And it's a fantastic way to use them: Hyatt is charging $700 or more a night for these rooms!

And remember, when you book with points, almost everything is covered at this all-inclusive property: your room, your food, your drinks, activities – you name it, it's included. Just bring cash for tips and you're set.

Plus, it's not 25,000 to 35,000 points per person: That nightly rate is good for two – although you can tack on as much as 17,000 points per night for each additional guest beyond that. But beware that Secrets Playa Blanca is an adults-only resort, so children under 18 aren't allowed.

Secrets properties are easily among the best in Hyatt's growing Inclusive Collection, and from the photos we've seen, this new Secrets Playa Blanca resort looks lovely. In total, the property has 507 rooms – all of them suites – plus four swimming pools and nine different dining concepts as well as beachside bars.

The property is located on the Costa Mujeres peninsula along Mexico's Caribbean coast, about 45 minutes north of the Cancún (CUN) airport. It's only a short ferry ride away from Isla Mujeres, too.

Don't have the Hyatt points you need to book a stay here? No problem: Hyatt is a Chase transfer partner – and if you ask us, it's one of the best. That means you can transfer 60,000 points from cards like the *chase sapphire preferred*, *chase sapphire reserve*, or even business cards like the *chase ink preferred* and get enough Hyatt points for at least a few nights at Secrets Playa Blanca.

If you're earning Bilt Rewards points by paying rent (or swiping a *Bilt Mastercard*), you can also transfer those points to Hyatt on a 1:1 basis.

How to Book the Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres

  • As of publication, there is standard room award availability at Secrets Playa Blanca from March through December 2024, with the best availability from August through October.
  • Award rates start as low as 25,000 points per night, but expect to pay peak rates of 35,000 points nightly in March and April.
  • Log in to your World of Hyatt account, search the property, add your dates, and make sure you select “Use Points” before clicking “Find Hotels.”
  • Try searching for one-night reservations at a time to ensure every night of your planned stay is available. If not, Hyatt will show you more expensive suite availability – or nothing at all.
  • You can also use Bilt's new award search tool or a site like MaxMyPoint to pull up a calendar of available dates. (Note: Secrets Playa Blanca was not available to search through Bilt at the time of publication, but we expect that to change soon).

You should be able to easily find availability to book a standard room: A Junior King Suite.

Bottom Line

The brand-new Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres is officially open, and it's easy to lock in a stay next year using World of Hyatt points – and not many of them!

  • I was reading some google reviews and it seems like some items and places are not fully fixed or open yet. I would book far in advance hoping they fix them.
