Delta Adds More Nonstops to Honolulu, Resumes Maui Route

Delta is adding even more flights to Hawaii next winter, including a new route between Boston (BOS) and Honolulu (HNL) and bringing back its longstanding Atlanta (ATL) to Maui (OGG) flights.

The Atlanta-based airline announced those new and returning routes Friday, though they're not on sale just yet. With Boston joining the mix, it gives Delta nonstop service to Hawaii from eight U.S. cities – including nonstops from all its biggest hubs.

The new Boston (BOS) to Honolulu (HNL) route will operate daily but only seasonally, starting Nov. 21 through April 30, 2025. Those flights will run on one of Delta's Boeing 767-300ER jets.

But Delta is also bringing back its nonstop seasonal route between Atlanta (ATL) and Kahului (OGG) on Maui. The airline paused that route – and shelved its plans to start another nonstop to Maui from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) – after Maui tourism dropped off due to devastating wildfires last summer.

While the Atlanta route will restart on Nov. 21 and run through March 29, 2025, the airline has not announced plans to start nonstops from Minneapolis.

New Delta routes from Boston (BOS) and Atlanta (ATL) to Hawaii

At the same time, Delta is beefing up existing routes to Hawaii from the western U.S. next winter, including:

  • Delta is launching a second daily, seasonal flight to Honolulu (HNL) from its hub in Salt Lake City (SLC). This route operates from Nov. 6 through March 29.
  • Seattle (SEA) is getting a third daily flight to Honolulu (HNL) on its seasonal route, which runs from Dec. 21 through March 29.

All those new frequencies will bring Delta's total number of daily flights to and from Hawaii next winter to 22, helping connect more travelers from all across the mainland U.S. directly to the islands.

New Seattle to Miami Route

On Friday, Delta also announced a new transcontinental route between Seattle (SEA) to Miami (MIA).

The airline has been steadily growing in Miami. While it's still far from a hub, it's driven by Delta's close partnership with South America's LATAM Airlines,  which has a major presence in southern Florida.

Seattle is the last of Delta's hubs to get nonstop service to and from Miami. Delta says it will launch year-round daily service between the two cities on Dec. 21.

Bottom Line

More nonstop flights to Hawaii are on tap for next winter as Delta adds a brand-new seasonal route from Boston (BOS) to Honolulu (HNL) and resumes its longstanding nonstop flights between Atlanta (ATL) to Maui (OGG).

    • On paper, yes it should be per the new terms of the companion tickets. However, the right fare class of ticket needs to be available which can sometimes be a challenge to find.
