Even if you've soured on the value of Delta SkyMiles – well, clearly you haven't seen all the deeply discounted deals we're finding lately – there are plenty of good reasons and perks for even occasional Delta flyers to add a co-branded SkyMiles card to your wallet. To go along with free baggage and a 15% discount on award tickets, we recently discovered a little-known perk that might just be the best … or at the very least, the tastiest.

On select flights, all Delta SkyMiles cardholders can get a complimentary premium snack: a choice of Dot's Pretzels, Pringles, or Nerds Gummy Clusters. From the top-of-the-line *delta reserve card* to the no-annual-fee *delta blue*, every card qualifies.

This isn't a one-and-done benefit, either: You can log in and get a free snack on each and every eligible Delta flight – at least for the next four months (and perhaps longer) while this benefit is still being offered. My wife and I each used it on a flight down to Costa Rica last week and again on the way back home.

The only real limitation is that it's only available on flights of 900 miles or more. That means one- or two-hour domestic flights won't qualify, but many longer domestic trips and especially cross-country flights should be no problem. Same goes for most Delta routes down to Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean.

Not sure how long your upcoming Delta flight is? Plug the route into GCMap.com!

You don't even need your Delta card with you on the plane, either. Just log into the Wi-Fi with your SkyMiles account and so long as your Amex card is attached to your account, you'll see the option to claim your premium snack. Click through, show your flight attendant the confirmation page as they come through the aisle, let them know what snack you want, and enjoy.

This cardholder benefit was rolled out sometime late last year without a real announcement … or any fanfare.

But it's a tangible, valuable benefit. These are big bags of pretzels, chips, or candy – not the tiny bags of Cheez-Its or (admittedly delicious) cookies everyone in economy gets for free. These are substantial snacks that would cost you $7 to $8 or even more at the airport or on the plane.

Delta says this is a “limited time” benefit for cardholders – it's currently set to lapse June 30, according to the airline's terms and conditions. But it's already been extended once: It was originally set to end in late January 2026 before being pushed out halfway through the year.

Here's hoping it gets extended again so we can all enjoy some top-tier snacks flying Delta for months to come. It'll be Dot's for me every time, thanks.

Not a current SkyMiles cardholder? Now is an excellent time to pick one up, with big limited-time welcome offers … and the ability to score a free snack on your next flight!

Bottom Line

Delta has barely made a peep about one of the best new benefits for its co-branded cardholders.

With any Delta SkyMiles card, you can get a free premium snack on any Delta-operated flights of 900 miles or more. Barring another extension, this benefit is set to end June 30, 2026.

Enjoy it while you can, travelers!
