If there's any place in the world where it's worth splurging for a top-tier resort, it's the Maldives. With a stash of Marriott Bonvoy points, you can book one of the best properties in this bucket-list destination this year or next without breaking the bank.

We're seeing wide-open availability to book the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli through early March of next year for as low as 88,000 points per night. That includes many dates from January into March 2024 – peak season in the Maldives thanks to hot and dry weather – bookable for 94,000 to 108,000 Marriott points a night!

Best of all, you aren't just booking a standard room for these rates: In almost every case, you can get one of the iconic overwater villas with a private pool for the same rate!

Marriott's dynamic award pricing means nightly rates are all over the map, from under 90,000 points per night to 150,000 points, often changing from one night to the next. But there is more decently-priced award availability than we've seen in many, many months to book one of the best resorts in the Maldives on points.

While 100,000 Bonvoy points or more a night is steep, it's certainly better than forking over the $1,500-plus nightly rate. Plus, Marriott offers a fifth night free on award stays booked using Bonvoy points, meaning you could book a five-night stay for the price of four. If you've got the card_name, you may be able to tack on one more night with its 85,000-point free night certificate (after kicking in a few more points to top it off, a feature Marriott added recently) and pull off nearly a week at the St. Regis Maldives!

Thrifty Tip: The card_name provides automatic Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status, which provides you with free breakfast and a potential room upgrade during your stay. Trust us: Free daily breakfast for two in the Maldives will save you a ton of money.

This isn't your average resort in the Maldives: The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli is widely considered one of the best resorts in this Indian Ocean archipelago … and we concur. We reviewed this property back in 2019 and loved it.

It's a relatively new property that opened back in 2016, with superb rooms, beautiful views and beaches, and an incredible onsite spa. Oh, and every villa comes with a personal butler.

The biggest downside to booking this property with points is that you'll still be on the hook for a separate seaplane transfer from Male (MLE) to the resort, though that's a given for any resort in the Maldives. And at just over $800 per person roundtrip, it's not cheap for the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli.

But that's a small price to pay when you're otherwise using points for this surreal, bucket list experience.

Don't have all the Marriott points you need to book? In addition to the slew of Marriott cards, Marriott is both a Chase transfer partner and an Amex transfer partner, too. While we wouldn't normally transfer points from cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the American Express® Gold Card to get the final points you need to pull off this booking could be well worth it.

Current St. Regis Maldives Availability

Thanks to Marriott's dynamic pricing, exactly how many points you'll need per night varies wildly from month to month and even day by day. But we're seeing plenty of availability later this year into early 2024 – all with overwater villas available.

You'll find the best and cheapest availability in late May and again from July through October, but that coincides with the low season in the Maldives when it gets the most rain. The sweet spot here is from January into mid-March, during the Maldives' dry season where you can book many nights for under 110,000 points apiece – and occasionally under 100,000.

Scan through the calendar (make sure you select “my dates are flexible” when entering your dates at Marriott.com) and you'll see the bookable dates. Here's a look at what's bookable as of publication.

How to Book the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli

  • You can book award stays at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli for as low as 88,000 points per night from now through mid-March 2024.
  • Head to Marriott.com and search for the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli, selecting “Use Points/Certificates” before starting your search
  • Book five nights and pay for just four thanks to Marriott's fifth-night free benefit available to anyone using Bonvoy points
  • Travelers with the card_name can book with their free night certificate by kicking in up to 15,000 additional points (in order to cover a free night that costs up to 100,000 points at the St. Regis)

Bottom Line

While 100,000 points per night or more is steep, this is about as good as it gets for booking arguably the best resort in the Maldives with Marriott points. And this is the best availability we've seen at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli in many months.

Considering you can book an overwater villa for that rate and even get a fifth-night free, this is a great deal if you've got plenty of Marriott points and the Maldives on your bucket list.
