Delta just unveiled a new promo that's tailor made for maximizing the $100 to $250 annual credits for hotel stays on your Delta SkyMiles Amex cards.
Through Aug. 6, SkyMiles members booking hotels through Delta Stays will:
- Earn 4x SkyMiles per dollar (excluding taxes and fees) – double the usual sum
- Get extra perks like complimentary upgrades, free breakfast, or extra food and beverage credits at 10,000-plus “VIP Access” properties
- All while using up the annual credit of up to $250 from your Delta card
While this promo ends Aug. 6, you can book travel as far out as March 31, 2027 and still get in on all the extras that come with this offer.
This is part of Delta's broader “Beyond the Summer” promotion unveiled Tuesday. Delta is also offering double miles on select flights, more bonus SkyMiles for rental car and cruise bookings, savings on Delta Vacations packages, and a SkyMiles bonus for booking Airbnb Experiences or Services.
But if you ask us, this hotel promo is the headline item because it makes those annual hotel credits even more potent.
Delta added these money-saving hotel credits to its suite of SkyMiles cards a few years back, and it's a solid perk. Exactly how much you'll get depends on which card you have:
- The *delta skymiles gold* comes with an up to $100 Delta Stays credit each calendar year.
- The *delta skymiles platinum card* comes with an up to $150 Delta Stays credit each calendar year.
- The *delta skymiles reserve* comes with an up to $200 Delta Stays credit each calendar year.
Small-business versions of each card get an additional $50. Just use your card to pay at checkout – and be sure to select the “Pay now” option, as rates where you pay onsite won't trigger it. These credits reset each calendar year, so you've got until Dec. 31 to put your current credit to use.
Whichever card you've got, this promo makes it the perfect time to put yours to use for a hotel stay through March. You can stack that credit with some additional miles and maybe even some extra perks at select “VIP Access” hotels.
Delta doesn't publicize a full list of all 10,000-plus properties that qualify – and the perks seemingly vary from place to place. But as you search from city to city, you can filter to only see VIP Access properties.
Bottom Line
This promo – offering twice the miles and extra perks, at least at some properties – is as good a time as any to put the Delta stays hotel credit on your SkyMiles credit card(s) to use.
Scope it out and book your hotel stay before this promo ends Aug. 6 – for a stay as far out as late March 2027!
