After steadily adding more and more pins across the pond to its map, JetBlue will add another pair of transatlantic routes starting next spring – including its first-ever nonstop route to Italy!

The East Coast airline announced Wednesday its plans to add a pair of new nonstop routes from its Boston (BOS) hub to both Barcelona (BCN) and Milan (MXP). Both are brand-new cities for JetBlue flyers, bringing the airline's total tally of transatlantic destinations from both Boston and New York City (JFK) to eight and counting.

Both routes will operate daily, starting in the spring and continuing through the early fall. Service to Barcelona begins on April 16, while the Milan route kicks off almost a month later on May 11. The new flights are expected to go on sale first thing Thursday.

They'll both be on JetBlue's signature Airbus A321 aircraft, which features JetBlue's excellent Mint business class suites at the front of the plane and more spacious economy seating than you'll find on most airlines flying across the Atlantic. The flight to Milan is JetBlue's longest one yet – a feat in and of itself for the narrowbody planes in JetBlue's arsenal.

JetBlue has been struggling in the post-pandemic travel boom. So the airline is reinventing itself: It's finally planning to open up its own lounges in both New York and Boston, while also launching a premium travel credit card and slashing unprofitable routes nationwide.

But clearly, the airline still sees opportunity over in Europe.

It's been just over four years since JetBlue became a player in the U.S.-to-Europe market, but they've continually added more and more nonstop routes across the pond. After starting with tried-and-true destinations like London-Heathrow (LHR) and then Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), the carrier has branched out into other destinations including Edinburgh (EDI), Dublin (DUB), and Madrid (MAD).

A long-rumored addition in Lisbon hasn't materialized – at least not yet. Here's the full slate of European routes on tap for 2026.

“As we expand our New England footprint with new service from Boston to Barcelona and Milan, we’re bringing more travelers the elevated service that has redefined transatlantic air travel, including our award-winning Mint premium experience,” Joanna Geraghty, JetBlue's CEO, said in a statement.

Each of JetBlue's Airbus A321LR's is equipped with 93 standard economy seats, with 32 inches of legroom. There are 24 “Even More Space” seats with extra legroom – offering up to 37 inches of pitch at each seat.

But at the front, you'll find some of the most comfortable business class seats on a narrowbody jet.

There are 24 JetBlue Mint Suites laid out in a 1-1 configuration, each with a closing door for privacy … plus, two “Mint Studios” at the very front that have even more space than standard Mint suites available for an additional fee. No matter which suite you pick, JetBlue's catering and service are among the best in the sky.

In our experience, it's one of the best ways to fly to Europe, period.

Bottom Line

After steadily expanding across Europe with more nonstop routes, JetBlue is putting a pin in Spain's foodie capital of Barcelona, as well as a first-ever flight to Italy with service to Milan.

Both routes will start next spring and are expected to go on sale sometime Thursday. Watch closely: Based on what JetBlue has done with new transatlantic routes in the past, we wouldn't be surprised to see some amazing deals flying to Barcelona or Milan next year.
