Tock's restaurants, wineries, and experiences started showing up inside the Resy dining app this week, folding the two (seemingly) rival reservation platforms into one.
If you're carrying the *amex platinum*, *amex gold*, or a Delta co-branded Amex card that comes with Resy dining credits, don't get too excited yet: Those credits won't work at the newly added Tock venues until Sept. 15.
This integration was first announced back in February, after Amex acquired Tock in a deal reportedly worth $400 million in 2024.
It's now real, but it's arriving in two separate steps, and mixing them up could cost you a credit.

What Actually Changed This Week
Resy now lists more than 25,000 restaurants on its platform after absorbing Tock's entire booking network into its app and website. Tock built its name on some of the hardest tables in the country to book, including The French Laundry in the Napa Valley, plus Alinea and Smyth in Chicago and Per Se in New York.
Nearly 1,200 wineries are searchable on Resy for the first time, too, including Ridge Vineyards, Heitz Cellar, and Sandhi Wines. That's arguably the more useful expansion for most cardholders: A weekend wine-tasting stop is a far more realistic way to use a dining credit than scoring a French Laundry reservation.
“Our goal is simple: bring the best in hospitality together on Resy,” said Pablo Rivero, CEO of Resy and SVP of American Express Global Dining, in the company's announcement.
If you're the type who's struggled to find a Resy restaurant near you outside a handful of major metro areas, this could potentially be a fix. I pulled up my Resy app today, and tons of new options are showing up that were previously a part of Tock.
That said, before you get too far into a reservation, Tock venues aren't fully absorbed into Resy's booking flow yet. Tap a time slot at a Tock restaurant right now, and Resy pops up a “Tock is now part of the Resy network” screen before redirecting you to Tock to finish the booking.
It's not a dealbreaker – the restaurant is searchable and bookable – but don't expect every corner of the experience to feel identical to booking a longtime Resy restaurant just yet.
The Catch? Your Resy Credit Doesn't Follow Right Away
If you've got Resy credits to burn, here's what actually matters. Amex's Resy Credit won't extend to Tock venues until Sept. 15 – over a month after the restaurants themselves became bookable. Even after that date, you shouldn't assume every newly added restaurant qualifies – Amex says eligibility will keep expanding on a rolling basis for months.
Before you dine, check the restaurant's page in the Resy app. Eligible venues carry a “Resy Credit eligible” badge, and Amex has clarified that the badge isn't shrinking the pool of restaurants that already worked before this week – it's only there to flag which of the new Tock additions don't yet qualify.
I checked myself, and every Tock restaurant currently showing up on Resy is missing that badge. That lines up exactly with what Amex has said – none of it kicks in until Sept. 15.
No badge, no credit, and right now, that's every single Tock venue on the platform.
A Quick Refresher on Resy Credits
Depending on which American Express card is in your wallet, the Resy credit can add up to real money:
The *amex platinum*: up to $100 per quarter (up to $400 a year)
The *amex gold*: up to $50 twice a year (up to $100 a year)
The *delta reserve card*: up to $20 a month (up to $240 a year)
The *delta skymiles platinum card*: up to $10 a month (up to $120 a year)
Every one of these requires enrolling in the benefit first in your Amex account, and they're all use-it-or-lose-it – meaning any unused amount during that period won't roll over.
If you haven't turned the benefit on in your Amex account, do that first, as none of this matters if the credit isn't active in the first place.

Platinum Cardholders, Watch the Calendar
If you carry the Amex Platinum Card as I do, Sept. 15 lands in an inconvenient spot: Your third-quarter credit resets on Oct. 1, which leaves you about two weeks to enroll and actually spend up to $100 at a newly eligible Tock venue before that quarter's credit disappears for good.
If you're sitting on an unused Q3 Resy credit right now, don't bank on a Tock restaurant bailing you out at the buzzer. Use it at a restaurant that already carries the eligibility badge today, and treat any Tock venue that turns eligible on Sept. 15 as a bonus for Q4 – not your backup plan for Q3.
There's no downside to poking around the newly expanded Resy app to see what showed up near you – that Tock inventory is genuinely live, and reservations work exactly like they always have, minus that one hop over to Tock to finish booking.
But if you're specifically dining somewhere to burn a Resy Credit before it expires, stick to restaurants that already carried the “Resy Credit eligible” badge before this week. Don't assume a newly listed Tock restaurant will count until you see that badge – and don't assume every restaurant will show up eligible on Sept. 15 either.
Bottom Line
The Resy-Tock merger is a real, tangible win for anyone holding an Amex card with a Resy Credit. But the credit isn't retroactive, and it won't be universal for all Tock restaurants on day one.
