Delta Air Lines will operate its first long-haul route from its growing focus city of Austin (AUS) starting this spring, the airline announced Thursday.
According to a Delta press release, the new AUS-to-Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) flight will run daily during the summer season, beginning March 27, 2027. From Paris, travelers can connect onward to other destinations across Europe, India, and Africa, flying Delta's Sky Team partner Air France.
The 5,000-plus-mile flight will be operated by one of Delta's new A330-900neo aircraft, which includes Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and regular economy seats.
When the flight launches, it will be Austin's fourth long-haul international flight – and first to the City of Light. British Airways (LHR), KLM (AMS), and Lufthansa (FRA) all have flights scheduled to Europe for the summer of 2027 as well.
“Launching Austin's first nonstop service to Paris is a defining milestone, but it's just one part of our broader investment in the region. From expanded domestic flying to strong international connectivity through our partnership with Air France-KLM, we're making it easier than ever for customers to connect from Central Texas to destinations around the world,” said Joe Esposito, Executive Vice President – Chief Commercial Officer.
With this new international route, Delta says it will fly to 30 destinations from AUS by summer 2027, with up to 70 departures a day on the busiest days. In the Paris announcement, Delta also snuck in news of a brand new route from AUS to San Diego (SAN), starting April 12 – and a second daily flight to San Jose (SJC), starting the same day.
Delta also said it extended Cancún (CUN) flights from AUS to year-round service after initially operating seasonally.
To keep up with all its new flights, Delta has previously announced plans for a second Delta Sky Club location when the airport expands Concourse A.
