Like a fine wine, that monster 100,000-point bonus offer (no longer available) on the *csp* just keeps getting better with age.
If you recently added the card to your wallet, be sure to check your email: Chase is sending out details on its new “Points Boost” feature and giving anyone who opened the card in the past year a $50 Chase Travel℠ promo credit to celebrate. This credit can be applied to flights, hotels, rental cars, and more booked by June 23, 2026, directly through Chase Travel.
Chase will officially sunset the 1.25-cent-per-point redemptions on all travel through the portal as of Oct. 26, 2027. Until then, existing cardholders can continue redeeming points for enhanced value on all travel bookings – but only for points earned prior to Oct. 26, 2025.
Still, this $50 credit softens the blow for anyone who recently picked up the card and was hoping to use the big bonus for Chase Travel bookings. If you've got a new(ish) *chase ink preferred*, we're seeing reports that these cardholders have received the same offer.
Best of all, this $50 promotional credit stacks with the Sapphire Preferred's annual $50 hotel credit. Every year, cardholders get a $50 annual credit to use towards hotel bookings through Chase Travel℠.
To take advantage, all you need to do is use your Sapphire Preferred Card to book and pay for a hotel stay through Chase Travel, and you will receive an automatic statement credit for up to $50 each year. This credit follows your account member year instead of the calendar year. So, for example, if you just opened your Chase Sapphire Preferred Card in May, you would receive a new $50 hotel credit each year after renewing your account.
Here's what you need to know:
- You must book your hotel through Chase Travel℠ to get this $50 credit. Booking a stay directly with a hotel directly won't trigger the credit.
- Unlike other credit cards offering benefits like this, there is no minimum spend or length of stay requirement.
- No registration is required! This statement credit kicks in automatically
Looking at a one-night stay in Minneapolis later this summer, I could book the Hyatt Centric through Chase Travel for $164 per night. After adding the stay to my cart to complete the booking process, I found my $50 promo credit available right underneath the total.
By applying this credit to my purchase, the price dropped from $164 down to $114 for the one-night stay. And since I haven't used my annual hotel credit yet, I would receive a $50 statement credit a few days after booking.
But you don't have to use this $50 promo credit in conjunction with your Sapphire Preferred card's annual hotel benefit. You can also use it to save on flights, hotels, rental cars, activities, and more, booked through Chase. Just be sure to book something before it expires on June 23, 2026!
Bottom Line
If you added a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Ink Preferred Card to your wallet in the past year, you'll want to check your email. Chase just rolled out its new “Points Boost” feature and is giving new(ish) cardholders a $50 Chase Travel promo credit to celebrate.
All you have to do is book a flight, hotel, rental car, or other travel through Chase and apply your $50 promo code at checkout. Just be sure to book something before it expires next June!
