Earlier today, Chase and Marriott rolled out a new limited-time welcome bonus offer, allowing you to earn 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after spending $3,000 in the first three months on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card. That’s up from the standard 75,000 point offer for the same spending requirement.

And in addition to the new offer on the Boundless Card, they are also sweetening the deal on the no-annual-fee Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card. You’ll now earn 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after spending just $1,000 in the first three months of card membership. That’s up from the standard 30,000 bonus points.

The benefits on each card are slightly different, so read on for a full breakdown of each of these cards and exactly what they offer.

Our Analysis

This is a solid offer if you are thinking about either of the Chase Marriott Cards.

Marriott is unique as they have co-branded credit card relationships with both American Express and Chase. If you’re on the hunt for even more points, you can also get an offer of up to 75,000 Marriott Bonvoy points with the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card (terms apply).

In my opinion, the Bonvoy Boundless card should be your choice if you are debating between the Bonvoy Boundless and the Bonvoy Bold card. Even though the card has a $95 annual fee, it offers an annual free night certificate that should easily get you much more value than the $95 annual fee.

Even with Marriott’s peak and off-peak award pricing, the free night certificate can be used at any category 4 property at any time of year.

Marriott also offers a fifth night free on award bookings. That means if you book any award stay for five nights, you’ll only pay for four.

One of the biggest benefits of Marriott’s Bonvoy rewards program is the ability to transfer your points to over 40 partner airlines. You will get 1 airline mile for every 3 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer. Additionally, you will receive 5,000 additional airline miles when you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points to airline miles. That means 60,000 Marriott points = 25,000 airline miles.

What to Consider Before Applying

If you have (or have had) the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless or Bold credit card and earned the bonus in the last 24 months (two years), you will not be eligible to get this card and earn this new sign-up bonus offer.

Additionally, as with all Chase credit cards, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and Bold Credit Cards are subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. That means if you have been approved for five or more credit cards from any bank (not just Chase) in the last 24 months, you will automatically be declined for this card, regardless of your credit score or your history with Chase. Watch our YouTube video on the 5/24 rule below to learn more.

Lastly, if you have or have had the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card and earned the bonus in the last 24 months (two years), you will not be eligible to earn this new offer on either the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card or the Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card.

Bottom Line

Above and beyond the welcome offer bonus, you shouldn’t have to work too hard to squeeze solid value out of the Marriott Boundless Credit Card. Whether you transfer excess points to an airline partner, use the free anniversary night, or take advantage of the fifth-night free option, the choice is yours.

But whether you choose the Boundless or Bold, these offers are only available for a limited time.
