Editors Note: This offer is no longer available.Â
The Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card has long been considered one of the best options for your everyday spending. That's thanks in part to it having no annual fee and the fact that it earns 1.5% cash back on every purchase you make.
It's the perfect complement to either the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve® alongside it, as you can transfer the cashback earned on the Freedom Unlimited Card into Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Each cent equals 1 Ultimate Rewards points.

But this past week, Chase upped the ante for new Chase Freedom Unlimited cardholders with a new welcome offer bonus that is even more rewarding – especially considering how many Americans are spending their money now.

New Chase Freedom Unlimited cardholders will earn an additional 1.5% cashback on up to $20,000 spent in the first 12 months of card membership.Â
Full Benefits of the Chase Freedom Unlimited Card

- Unlimited 1.5% Cash Back: Earn an unlimited 1.5% cash back on all other purchases.
- Affected By The Chase 5/24 Rule: This card is subjected to Chase’s 5/24 rule, so you won't get approved for the Chase Freedom Unlimited if you've opened five or more credit cards (from any bank, not just Chase) in the last 24 months.
- No Annual Fee
Our Analysis
If you are under the Chase 5/24 restriction, now is a great time to grab the Chase Freedom Unlimited card. You can earn $200 cashback (or 20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) for a very reasonable $500 spending requirement in the first three months of card membership. On top of that, you'll earn 5% back (or 5x Ultimate Rewards points) at grocery stores on up to $12,00 in spending for the first 12 months.
This immediately makes the Freedom Unlimited Card as one of the best options for your grocery store spending. You'll be able to generate up to 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points (20,000 for the sign-up bonus and another 60,000 if you max out the grocery bonus) from a no annual fee credit card. That is almost unheard of.

Bottom Line
There is no end date listed on this offer though I wouldn't wait long if you are thinking about taking advantage of it. Even if you don't plan on converting the cash back to Chase Ultimate Rewards points, 5% cash back on grocery store purchases on up to $12,000 for the next year is a fantastic deal.
