New applicants for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card will earn 75,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after spending $3,000 in the first three months of card membership.

And even without this bonus offer, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card is worth a look if you often stay in Marriott hotels. And even if you don’t, the annual free night certificate the card provides is worth far more than the card’s $95 annual fee.

Our Analysis

This is the standard bonus on this card. From time to time, we will see the offer increase to 100,000 Bonvoy points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months of card membership. So that is certainly something to keep in mind.

And in my opinion, the card is worth hanging onto just for the free anniversary night it provides. This can easily offset your $95 annual fee – in fact, you shouldn’t have to work too hard to get three to four times the value out of it that you are paying for that annual fee. Even with Marriott’s new peak and off-peak award pricing, the free night certificate can be used at any category 4 property at any time of year.

Marriott also offers a fifth night free on award bookings. That means if you book any award stay for five nights, you’ll only pay for four.

One of the biggest benefits of Marriott’s Bonvoy rewards program is the ability to transfer your points to over 40 partner airlines. You will receive 1 airline mile for every 3 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer. Additionally, you will receive 5,000 additional airline miles when you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points to airline miles. That means 60,000 Marriott points = 25,000 airline miles.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer these free nights into airline miles. Still, this benefit is worth keeping in mind for whatever Marriott points you do earn.

Application Considerations

If you have (or have had) the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card and earned the bonus in the last 24 months (two years), you will not be eligible to get this card and earn this new sign-up bonus offer.

Additionally, as with all Chase credit cards, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card is subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. That means if you have been approved for five or more credit cards from any bank (not just Chase) in the last 24 months, you will automatically be declined for this card, regardless of your credit score or your history with Chase bank. Watch our YouTube video on the 5/24 rule below to learn more.

Lastly, if you have or have had the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card and earned the bonus in the last 24 months (2 years), you will not be eligible to earn this new offer on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card.

Bottom Line

Above and beyond the welcome offer bonus, you shouldn’t have to work too hard to squeeze solid value out of the Marriott Boundless Credit Card. Whether you transfer excess points to an airline partner, use the free anniversary night, or take advantage of the fifth-night free option, the choice is yours.
