If you're like me, your inbox is probably a mess right now as every brand you've ever heard of is pinging you with Black Friday sales. And the airlines want some of your holiday spending, too.
If you're skipping most “Black Flyday,” “Cyber Monday,” and “Travel Tuesday” sales, you're a savvy traveler. Black Friday isn't always the best day to find the cheapest fares. Most of these sales aren't better than the usual month-to-month promos, or, worst of all…are just normal fares dressed up as a Black Friday sale.
Tucked into some of these sales can be some good value, though. So it's worth checking some of them out. We always vet every Black Friday sale that comes around to see if the savings are good enough for our Thrifty Traveler Premium members, so if you're a subscriber, you don't have to worry about discerning these splashy promo pages.
In fact, there are only three Black Friday sales that I've deemed worthy of your time, and coincidentally, one features economy fares, one features premium economy, and one is in lie-flat business class. Here's where to look.
Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand & More from $427 RT
If you want the cheapest possible flight to Asia in 2026, Cathay Pacific is giving you something to get excited about this Thanksgiving week with a Black Friday sale for the ages.
Not only are fares discounted through Nov. 30, but you can use a promo code and get another $50 off, too!
We thought this deal was so good, we sent it to our Thrifty Traveler Premium members as soon as the sale launched to alert them to fares starting at just $500 roundtrip!
The full list includes destinations like Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, and more – all for less than $700 roundtrip, too!
Look at those Vancouver (YVR) fares, too! Oh, Canada!
Singapore Airlines Premium Econ to Asia from $1,200 RT
Not to be outdone by its Southeast Asian competitor, Singapore Airlines put together a sweet little promo on its fares, too. This deal runs through Tuesday, Dec. 2.
I'll show you some of the competitive economy fares on this deal at the end, but undoubtedly, the best part of this promotion is how cheap Singapore sells its awesome Premium Economy seats. This New York (JFK) to Singapore (SIN) example is the best one.
This is the longest flight in the world, which I took last year in premium economy; I can confirm that it is exceptionally nice.
But if you tack on a connection through Singapore (SIN), you can fly to Bangkok (BKK), Phuket (HKT), and Bali (DPS) for just about $100 more, too!
Singapore clearly outlines the best parts of this flight deal on its sale page, which I've pasted below as well.
La Compagnie Business Class to France & Italy for $2400 RT
La Compagnie is perhaps the most unique airline on earth. They fly A321 single-aisle aircraft, but with only lie-flat business class seats.
That's right! Business class from row one all the way to the back. It's a special way to fly, but usually La Compagnie wants to charge you for all that specialness. Not during this promotion, which ends on Friday, November 28.
This week, you can book La Compagnie to Milan (MXP) or Paris (ORY) nonstop from Newark (EWR) for just $2400 roundtrip. It's a fare that will have you feeling as zen as this model in La Compagnie's promo materials.
The best part about this deal is all the availability. You can book almost every single day of winter and spring through April, including to Milan during the Milano-Cortina Olympics in February, during Spring Break, and even through May in Milan.
But I think there's a best way to book this deal: Valentine's Day.
Think about this. This Christmas, you surprise your significant other with two roundtrip business class flights to Paris…for Valentine's Day weekend! You'll be flying lie-flat the whole way, so you don't have to worry about the jet lag of a long weekend in France, and you've just pulled off the best Christmas/Valentine's Day surprise of all time.
If you burn the turkey or get in the doghouse with your loved one this weekend, use these La Compagnie fares to bail yourself out.
Bottom Line
Black Friday airline sales can hold outsized value for travelers, but many times they hold very little value at all. So, we combed through the only three Black Friday airline sales that you need to know about.
If you want to fly economy to Asia, Cathay's sale has your back. If you want a fancier premium economy seat to some of the same places, Singapore's promo will get you there. And if you want some lie-flat seats to Europe, La Compagnie is the key to your next trip this Black Friday.
