The *chase sapphire reserve* just turned 10 years old, and Chase is marking the occasion with a pile of limited-time statement credits, a splashy contest, and an updated benefit that genuinely makes the card more valuable.
If you've already seen last week's news about the Sapphire Reserve's increased DoorDash credit, the five new spending offers will be the real headline for you. All of them require activation and have an expiration date – so don't sit on them if you've got travel to book.
Here's the full lineup:
- IHG Hotels & Resorts – Get $125 back when you spend $500-plus on a U.S. stay
- Hyatt's Miraval & Alila properties – Get $250 back when you spend $1,000 on a U.S. stay
- JSX – Activate and pay by Dec. 14, 2026: get $200 back when you spend $200 on a semi-private flight
- Wander – Get $350 back when you spend $1,500 on a vacation home rental
- SIXT – Get $125 back when you spend $500 on a premium car rental (only available to cardmembers as of Aug. 25, 2026)
On top of that, the card's monthly DoorDash credit is increasing on Oct. 1 to up to $35 per month, with the old $5 credit going up to $15 per month, and now it can be used on all eligible DoorDash orders (not just restaurants) – and that's in addition to the two $10 per month, non-restaurant order credits. Plus, you'll still get a complimentary DashPass, which waives delivery fees and trims down service charges on eligible orders.
And then there's this: Chase is giving away 10 million Ultimate Rewards points to cardmembers who post videos about their favorite travel memories from the past decade. The top 10 finalists will each earn 500,000 points, with the grand prize winner receiving an additional 5 million points. Will you win? Probably not, but the thought of that many Chase points sure has me dreaming.
Read on for more details about everything Chase is doing to celebrate the Sapphire Reserve's 10th anniversary.
Chase Sapphire Reserve® 10th Anniversary Promos
Before diving a little deeper into these promotional offers, it's important to call out a few of the finer details.
First off, you have to activate all these anniversary promos in your Chase account, then book and pay directly with the partner – not through Chase Travel℠. You'll find them in the Chase Offers section of your Sapphire Reserve online account. Next, you'll want to pay close attention to when these credits expire.
In the case of the IHG offer, you've only got a month to complete payment – this one expires on Oct. 16, 2026 – but critically, you don't have to complete your stay by then. All the other offers provide a little longer runway, giving you until Dec. 14, 2026, to put them to use.
Add it all up, and there's over $1,000 in statement credits available here, but actually cashing in will require a significant amount of spending. So which of these promotions is worth taking advantage of and which should you skip? Let's break it down.
Get $125 Back at IHG Hotels
In my opinion, this is the top offer worth prioritizing – not just because it's the most time-sensitive, but because it'll be the easiest for most travelers to use without going out of their way to spend big. Simply spend $500 or more on an IHG hotel (or hotels) and get $125 back as a statement credit.
IHG's portfolio is enormous, and while this offer is limited to properties in the U.S., it's not restricted to luxury properties like the Hyatt promotion we'll cover next. So whether you're booking five nights at a Holiday Inn Express in Greensboro, North Carolina …
… or a single night stay at an InterContinental in New York City, you can earn up to 25% back on a hotel stay later this year or next.
Just remember: the clock is shorter on this one than the rest. You'll need to activate the offer first, and then you have to complete your payment by Oct. 16, 2026. Unless you've got a stay planned in the next month, that likely means booking a “pay in advance” rate that may or may not be cancellable.
If you're looking to stay beyond that October expiration date but don't want to risk a non-refundable booking, you could try calling the hotel to put down a $500 deposit well in advance of your stay and have the credit applied that way.
Get $250 Back With Miraval & Alila Bookings
Hyatt's offer is a 25% rebate on paper, but tougher to execute due to the limited number of eligible properties and the high prices they command. Miraval's all-inclusive wellness resorts routinely run well past $1,000 a night, so hitting the threshold without wildly overspending is unlikely. Alila is the more realistic play, but there are only three Alila properties in the U.S., all in California, and rates aren't cheap.
Your best shot is the Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas in Southern California, where off-peak winter rates can dip into the $500 range – close enough to make the math work without blowing past $1,000 by much.
Get $200 Back With JSX
If you're unfamiliar, JSX is a semi-private airline that operates as a public charter, flying out of smaller terminals with none of the standard TSA lines and boarding-group chaos.
One-way flights typically start around $400 (and go up from there), so even though this offer is for $200 off $200 in spending, you're likely going to be out-of-pocket a bit if you plan to take advantage. Having said that, discounted routes do exist – Austin, Texas (EDC), to Taos, New Mexico (TSM), for example, prices out just below $200.
Since this offer requires spending at least $200, that flight alone wouldn't do it, but you could use it to get half off a roundtrip or perhaps add on an extra small charge.
This offer is certainly worth checking JSX's route map to see if you can make something work.
Get $125 Back With SIXT
You can get $125 back on $500 a rental car booking with SIXT. This isn't exactly worth going out of your way for, but if you need to reserve a car and SIXT fits your plans, they generally provide more premium cars and better service than other rental providers.
Unlike all the other offers on this list, this one's only available to cardmembers who had the Reserve as of Aug. 25, 2026 – so if you picked up the card after that date, this offer isn't on the table for you.
Get $350 Back With Wander
Maybe it's just not for me, but I think Wander is the offer most people should skip. It's the least broadly useful of the five – Wander's inventory of vacation rentals is much smaller than the likes of Airbnb and Vrbo. Never mind the fact that $1,500 is a real spending threshold to clear for a one-time credit.
Bigger, More Flexible DoorDash Credit
This already feels like old news – but in case you missed it, here's the short version: Starting Oct. 1, the Reserve's $5 monthly restaurant-only credit triples to $15 and expands to any DoorDash order – groceries, convenience stores, and more.
Combined with the two existing $10 non-restaurant credits and the card's included DashPass membership, that's up to $35 a month in DoorDash value, or roughly $516 a year once it kicks in.
Unlike the anniversary offers, this is a permanent change to the benefit and an ongoing win for cardholders.
How to Win 5.5 Million Ultimate Rewards
Starting today and running through Nov. 6, Chase is inviting cardmembers to create and post a video about their favorite trip taken since 2016 for a chance to win a recreation of it. Ten finalists move to a public vote, with one grand-prize winner walking away with 5.5 million Ultimate Rewards points and each of the other nine finalists getting 500,000 points.
Depending on your social media skills, this contest could be a quick, fun project or a total time suck. Nonetheless, having a chance to win 5.5 million (or even 500,000) Chase points could make it worthwhile.
Bottom Line
Chase is celebrating the Sapphire Reserve's 10th anniversary with a series of limited-time promos, a permanent benefit change, and a points-filled contest. Of the five spending offers, IHG is the easiest win if you've got a U.S. hotel stay coming up in the next month – just don't wait past Oct. 16 to activate and spend. Meanwhile, the offers for JSX and SIXT are worth a look if your travel plans happen to line up with them.
But the real long-term value isn't any of the anniversary promos – it's the permanent DoorDash credit bump, which quietly makes the card's $795 annual fee a little easier to swallow.
