Welcome to the Bold North! Let us help you get the inside scoop on what is happening around town, what to do, and where to eat and drink. Our local Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine has put together a comprehensive online guide that gives you everything you need to know.

To Do

If you're looking to do as the Minnesotans do, check out The Great Northern Festival: our annual celebration of winter with ice and snow sculpture contests, cross country ski races on the string of lakes (we are the City of Lakes), and even an ice palace.

Not ready to brave the cold weather? Check out the Walker Art Center and don't forget to stop by their restaurant, Esker Grove, which made it on the Travel Channel's 10 Best Museum Restaurants Worldwide. You could spend a leisurely afternoon at the Minneapolis Institute of Art  or wander through the Turnblad Mansion at the American Swedish Institute while snacking on some swedish meatballs from the Fika Cafe. The Museum of Russian Art, full of beautiful iconography, is a must see. If the kids are along, don't miss the Science Museum of Minnesota.

To Eat

Now to the important info: food & drink! Minneapolis boasts 13 chefs on the James Beard Award Nominee list for 2017 and Erin Rolek of The Bachelor Farmer, one of Food & Wine ‘s 2017 Sommelier's of the Year. Safe to say, there is no shortage of amazing food and wine selections in the Twin Cities. We highly recommend checking out the MN Food Guide (featuring Mrs. TT!). Food & Wine and USA Today have also put together a few highlights of the local food scene for the big weekend (and beyond)!

Martina, the new darling of the food scene (& favorite of Mr. & Mrs. TT), happens to have some reservations open, for now! Also, don't miss some of the favorite neighborhood spots like Ramen Kazama, and Matt's Bar with the famous Juicy Lucy (cheese-stuffed burger). One of our favorite neighborhood spots is Revival, which has incredible fried chicken and creamy mac & cheese! Revival has two locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as inside the U.S. Bank Stadium — if you happen to be one of the lucky few.

To Drink

You can't miss out on the local beer and spirits scene. There are  over 50 tap rooms in the Metro area and now a handful cocktail rooms with great local spirits. Tattersall and Norseman are at the forefront of local spirits and cocktails. Surly Brewing has made a splash nationally and they have the largest destination brewery in the state. Check out some of the local favorites like Fair State, known for their sours or Indeed Brewing , which is a favorite local hang out. Barrel Theory is one of the newest tap rooms: you can't drink their beers anywhere else! Check out Eater's Guide to all of the local taprooms and MSP Magazine's list of the states distilleries.

Bottom Line

Not sure where to start? Ask a local. We're extremely proud of the Twin Cities, and with a Minnesota Nice attitude we are happy to share all of our best kept “secrets”.
