Want to travel more for even less? Travelers with the *chase sapphire reserve*, *capital one venture card* or *venture x* can start getting our Thrifty Traveler Premium deals for next to nothing out of pocket

Since our Thrifty Traveler Premium service codes as a travel expense, that means it's eligible for the Chase Sapphire Reserve's annual $300 travel credit that covers any and all travel expenses.

In fact, you'll have $200 of travel credit leftover after paying for a Premium membership, or $150 if you want to add Hotel Alerts with a Premium+ subscription. Or, you could cover up to six (or four with Premium+) subscriptions if you want to gift a few to family and friends.

Alternatively, Venture and Venture X cardholders (or even travelers with the no-annual-fee *capital one ventureone*) could cover the cost of Thrifty Travel Premium with Capital One miles.

Just be sure to pay with these cards at check out. Once your transaction hits your account, you'll be able to cover the charge with Capital One miles. Using miles that way, each mile is worth 1 cent towards travel. After purchasing an annual Thrifty Traveler Premium subscription, you'd need just 9,999 miles to cover the $99.99 charge.

To do it, simply head to your Capital One online account and click “Redeem” next to your mileage balance.

From here, select “Cover Travel Purchases.” This allows you to cover any travel purchase you make with your Venture card.

Then you’ll be taken to a page where you can select which travel-related purchases you’ve made on your Capital One card that you’d like to “erase.” This includes all travel transactions from the last 90 days.

If you're an existing Thrifty Traveler Premium member, you'll want to head to the Thrifty Traveler Premium login page and make sure your Capital One card is on file for your payment if you want to use miles to cover the annual membership fee. Once your next payment is due, it will be automatically charged – making it eligible to be removed with Capital One miles.

Got the *venture x*? One of that card's benefits makes this deal even better. Starting in your second year, you'll get 10,000 Miles as a bonus for renewing each and every year. Those 10,000 miles will be more than enough to cover your Thrifty Traveler Premium membership every year going forward.

So, what do Thrifty Traveler Premium flight deal alerts get you? Let's take a look.

Bottom Line

We're just a bit biased, but we can't think of a better way to put the $300 annual travel credit on your *chase sapphire reserve* card or Capital One miles to use. Think of it as a (small) investment in cheaper travel.
