If you’re buying a new iPhone, MacBook, or another pricey Apple product, you could be leaving thousands of airline miles on the table by going straight to Apple.
Normally, the solution is simple: Use an online shopping portal to earn additional points or miles on top of the rewards from your credit card. Airline and credit card shopping portals routinely roll out bonuses for Apple purchases … but almost always exclude the newest (and most expensive) products like iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, AirPods 5, the upcoming iPhone Duo, and more.
But there’s another option: Air France/KLM Flying Blue has a dedicated Apple storefront where members can earn miles on a much wider selection of Apple products, including many devices that other shopping portals exclude.
There are a few trade-offs, and many travelers have (understandably) soured on Flying Blue miles after some painful changes earlier this month. But taking a few extra steps before buying your next Apple product could earn you thousands of valuable Flying Blue miles.
What Is the Flying Blue Apple Store?
Flying Blue launched dedicated Apple storefronts in the United States, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom earlier this year. To get to the U.S. store, just go to us.apple.flyingblue.com.
This isn’t a traditional shopping portal that eventually redirects you to Apple.com. Instead, it’s a separate Apple storefront built specifically for Flying Blue members.
You can browse and buy iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, AirPods, displays, and accessories just as you would through Apple’s website. Each product page displays the price, available configurations, and exactly how many Flying Blue miles you’ll earn.
What makes this storefront special is its much broader product selection.
The Flying Blue store currently lists products that are explicitly excluded from most traditional portals, including recently released products like the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple Watch Series 12.
The mileage rate varies depending on the product. But when most other portals award zero miles on these products, earning almost anything through Flying Blue is an improvement. Plus, when you consider how valuable Flying Blue miles can be – especially when booking Delta flights and other partner carriers for less – this makes it a great way to earn more miles on the purchases you already planned on making.
Make Sure You Use the Right Flying Blue Site
Here’s where things get confusing: Flying Blue has two different ways to earn miles on Apple purchases.
There’s a traditional Apple listing through the Flying Blue Earning Online shopping portal. It currently offers 13 miles for every $10 spent, or 1.3 miles per dollar. But that option comes with many of the same product exclusions as the other airline/shopping portals. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, MacBook Neo, Apple Watch Series 12, AirPods 5, Studio Display, and several other products don’t qualify.
The U.S. Flying Blue Apple Store awards miles on far more products, while Flying Blue’s traditional Apple US portal redirects to Apple.com and has a lengthy exclusion list
To access the broader product selection, you need to start by going directly to us.apple.flyingblue.com.
The dedicated store looks more like Apple.com, allowing you to browse and buy products without being redirected elsewhere.
How to Use the Flying Blue Apple Store
All you need to get started is a free Flying Blue account. Visit us.apple.flyingblue.com, log in, and find the product you’re looking for.
An interesting note I found in my searches: the price listed online includes taxes and, in some cases, can price out cheaper compared to Apple itself or more expensive. But in many cases, items will cost the same, such as the new Apple Watch Series 12.

How Many Flying Blue Miles Can You Earn?
Unlike a traditional shopping portal, the Flying Blue Apple store doesn’t have one universal earning rate.
The amount varies by product, so you’ll need to check the mileage estimate displayed before adding an item to your cart.
Earnings rate depends on the product purchased. The newest iPhones earn 0.6x miles, while other products earn up to 4x Flying Blue miles
Those earnings come before factoring in other rewards from your credit card.
The payout could be even larger on a high-end MacBook, Mac Studio, or display costing $2,000 or more.
Important Notes Before Buying
Prices shown on the Flying Blue Apple Store include applicable taxes and fees.
For example, I purchased an Apple Studio Display that cost $2,199 total through the Flying Blue store. Apple charged $2,299 before tax, meaning I saved roughly $250 overall once Apple’s sales tax was included.
Other items like the new iPhone 18 Pro will be priced near the same as in-store when you factor in all taxes. Some items seem to be priced to rounded numbers, while others seem to show more final pricing with tax included.

Returns are much more restrictive. The store doesn’t allow buyer’s-remorse returns: only damaged, defective, or incorrect products are eligible. The number of miles offered can change by product, so don’t assume your purchase will earn the same rate as a previous order. Check the mileage total before paying – and take a screenshot in case the miles don’t post correctly. Check Flying Blue Apple rates for the most up-to-date earnings.
Delivery via Flying Blue's portal often takes longer, in some cases four to six weeks. There is currently no in-store pickup option.
Pending miles should appear in your Flying Blue Shopping account within 24 hours of purchase. They are typically credited to your Flying Blue account about 30 days after delivery.
