Bilt Rewards is rewriting the playbook once again – and it’s not just renters who should pay attention.
Starting February 7, 2026, Bilt will roll out “Bilt Card 2.0,” a new lineup of credit cards that, for the first time, will let members earn points on mortgage payments, no matter who their lender is.
That’s a massive shift for Bilt, which, until now, has only allowed members to earn points on rent payments and neighborhood spending. Bilt previously teased that mortgage rewards were coming next year … but only through a partnership with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM).
This news comes as Bilt officially ends its relationship with Wells Fargo, which has issued the no-annual-fee Bilt Mastercard® since 2021. Applications for that card close today (Nov. 5) at noon EST, and existing cardholders will soon get the chance to choose which of Bilt’s three new cards works best for them.
Read on for everything you need to know about this exciting new development and what we currently know about Bilt Card 2.0.
Earn Points on Mortgage Payments
Bilt is teaming up with fintech card issuer Cardless to launch three new cards on February 7, 2026. While the full details will be revealed at a special event in January, Bilt has already confirmed that all three versions will enable cardholders to earn Bilt points on mortgage payments, regardless of the bank or company that holds the loan.
That’s a significant development. When Bilt officially announced its partnership with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) last month, it was expected to help homeowners earn points … only if they had a mortgage through UWM. But this next move – extending point-earning to any mortgage – opens the door to extra rewards for millions of homeowners nationwide.
We outlined details of what these cards could look like earlier this year, but here's a high-level overview of what we expect to see from Bilt and Cardless when this new partnership launches in February.
- A no-annual-fee option, replacing the current Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard
- A $95 annual fee card with expanded perks
- A premium $495 annual fee card aimed at big spenders in search of added perks and benefits

What Happens to the Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard®?
The ability to apply for the Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard® ends at noon EST today. Current cardholders can continue using their cards through February 6, 2026, and earn and redeem Bilt points as usual.
After that, cardholders will have the option to transition their accounts to the new Bilt Card 2.0 lineup, subject to a soft credit check (no hard inquiry required). The switch will be nearly invisible to users:
- Card numbers stay the same, meaning autopay and stored payment methods won’t break
- Apple Pay and Google Pay update automatically
- Bilt accounts, points balances, and memberships carry over seamlessly
If members choose not to switch, their Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard will be converted into a Wells Fargo Autograph Visa – a separate product with no Bilt functionality.
Bilt says members don’t need to take any action right now. When the full lineup of new cards is revealed in January, current cardholders will have the option to choose which version they prefer. New cards will arrive before the February 7, 2026, launch date, so members are ready to swipe from day one.
The company promises a “seamless transition” to Cardless, with no interruption to spending, rewards, or account access.

By opening up point-earning on mortgage payments, Bilt is turning another massive monthly expense into a way to earn more travel rewards. Renters have long loved earning points on their most significant monthly expense, and now homeowners can do the same – potentially earning enough points for a flight to Europe or a free hotel stay just by paying their mortgage.
If Bilt continues to deliver solid earning rates on its new cards and keeps its roster of current travel partners, the new Bilt Card 2.0 lineup could be a game-changer for both everyday earners and frequent flyers alike.
Bottom Line
Bilt is once again expanding the definition of what it means to earn rewards – first with rent, and now with mortgages. The shift to Cardless and the launch of Bilt Card 2.0 mark a huge leap for both renters and homeowners alike.
Applications for the current Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard close at noon EST today, so this chapter is closing fast. But the next one – with points on every rent and mortgage payment – could be even more rewarding for travelers.
