Summer's not quite behind us but Delta is sketching out its plans for summer 2026 with a pair of new routes across the pond from Boston (BOS).

The Atlanta-based airline announced Wednesday it will add nonstop routes from:

  • Boston (BOS) to Madrid (MAD) starting May 16
  • Boston (BOS) to Nice (NCE) starting May 17

Both new additions will operate seasonally through the summer and into late October 2026, with three flights each week to both destinations. And whether you head for the Spanish capital or the French Riviera, you'll hop on one of Delta's newest Airbus A330-900neo jets with Delta One Suites at the front of the plane – not one of the airlines' woefully outdated Boeing 767s or older Airbus A330s that are far more common flying across the Atlantic.

These new flights are expected to go on sale this Saturday.

The addition of these new routes brings Delta's tally for flights between Boston and Europe to a dozen in total. The airline will also restart service to Barcelona (BCN) even earlier next spring, offering daily flights in both directions. Flights from Massachusetts to Milan (MXP) will also kick off earlier next year, with four flights a week commencing May 16.

This won't be the end of Delta's additions for next year, though.

The airline is also crowdsourcing another route to Europe for next year, asking SkyMiles members to choose between nonstops to Ibiza (IBZ), Malta (MLA), or Olbia (OLB) on the Italian isle of Sardinia. Plus, speculation is swirling about a surprising new addition for flyers based in Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP).

But Boston has been no stranger to new transatlantic options as Delta tries to build out another East Coast powerhouse hub.

Even before these upcoming additions to Madrid and Nice, the airline had already added four new routes from Boston to Europe since 2019 alone – more than doubling its pre-pandemic transatlantic capacity, according to data from the aviation analytics company Cirium.

Delta already flies to both Nice and Madrid from its other hubs in New York City (JFK) and Atlanta (ATL). It'll face competition on the Boston-to-Madrid route from both JetBlue and Spanish flag carrier Iberia, which has operated the route for more than a decade.

Bottom Line

Delta is adding a pair of new transatlantic options out of Boston next summer with nonstop flights to both Madrid and Nice.

Those two summer seasonal additions will bring the airline's roster of routes from Boston to Europe to a full dozen. Both flights are set to go on sale Saturday.
