Chase Sapphire cardholders can now get free Apple subscriptions just for linking their accounts – and if you're bundled into Apple One rather than paying for individual apps, that's covered too.
Link your account once, and Chase covers the cost automatically going forward … or at least for a year (more on that in a bit). There's no reimbursement request to submit and no waiting for a statement credit to post a few days later. The charge simply never shows up on your card.
The *chase sapphire reserve* covers Apple Music (individual plan) and Apple TV, worth roughly $24/month combined. If you're an Apple One subscriber, you get a combined $16 per month discount applied straight to your bundle – with the benefit running through June 2027.
Meanwhile, the cheaper *chase sapphire preferred* covers Apple TV only and is worth about $156 over a complimentary one-year period (activation by Dec. 31, 2026, required). Similar to the Reserve, if you're on Apple One, you'll get an $8 per month discount applied to your bundle.
It takes about two minutes to activate, and if you're already paying for any of these services – bundled or not – there's no reason not to.
Here's exactly what each card gets you – including how it applies if you're on Apple One – and how to set it up.
The Two Benefits, Side by Side
Here's what each card actually covers:
Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- Apple Music (individual plan) – a $10.99/month value
- Apple TV – a $12.99/month value
- Apple One subscribers: a combined $16/month discount applied directly to your bundle
- Individual ($19.95/month): $3.95
- Family ($25.95/month): $9.95
- Premier ($32.95/month): $16.95
- Premier Family ($37.95/month): $21.95
- Both benefits currently run through June 2027
- No activation deadline within that window. Just link your accounts, and you're covered going forward
The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
- Apple TV is the only standalone service covered
- Apple One subscribers: a $7.50/month discount applied directly to your bundle
- Individual ($19.95/month): $12.45
- Family ($25.95/month): $18.45
- Premier ($32.95/month): $25.45
- Premier Family ($37.95/month): $30.45
- Complimentary for one year from activation
- Must activate by Dec. 31, 2026 – miss that window and the benefit isn't available
- No word yet on whether Chase will extend this past the first year
The gap between the two cards is real: Reserve cardholders get two services – or double the Apple One discount – covered through June 2027. Preferred cardholders get half that discount, and only for a year.
How to Activate
Getting set up takes about two minutes for either card. First, log in to your Chase account online or in the Chase Mobile app, then head to the benefits section for your Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred.
Find the Apple TV offer (and, for Reserve cardholders, the Apple Music offer) and activate both. You'll be prompted to connect your Apple ID. Once it's linked, Chase covers the cost automatically going forward.
If you're already subscribed to individual Apple TV or Apple Music plans, that's it. You're done.
If you're on Apple One, the process is slightly different, since Chase can't apply a discount to a bundle you haven't linked yet. Here's exactly how I did it on my own Reserve card.
Cancel your Apple One Subscription First
Before activating your new benefits in your Chase account, you need to cancel your Apple One subscription first. Then, activate both the Apple TV and Apple Music offers in the Chase app. This adds each service to your Apple ID individually.
Once you do that, you can resubscribe to Apple One. Once you resubscribe, Apple automatically drops the standalone Apple TV and Music subscriptions you just added and rolls them into your Apple One bill at the discounted rate. You'll still see your normal Apple One price on the surface – it's just lower than it used to be.
One thing worth confirming before you cancel anything: you won't lose your iCloud storage, Arcade, News+, or any other bundled services included with Apple One during this process. It's a brief on/off, not a full reset.
Preferred cardholders should follow the same steps … just know you're only linking Apple TV, not Music, since that's the only service the card covers.
Should You Activate This Offer?
For most cardholders, yes – there's little reason not to. But the calculus is a little different depending on which card you carry and how you currently pay for Apple services.
If You Have the Sapphire Reserve
If you're already paying full price for an individual Apple Music plan and/or Apple TV, this is close to free money. Activate it, link your accounts, and you'll save $24/month – enough to meaningfully offset the card's $795 annual fee on its own.
If you're on Apple One, the math is now easier than before. You don't have to unbundle down to individual plans and lose access for family members. Cancel, activate, resubscribe, and you keep everything in your bundle – just at a $16/month discount.
If You Have the Sapphire Preferred
The math is smaller, but it's still worth doing. If you're paying for a standalone Apple TV subscription, activating this benefit saves you $12.99/month – about $156 over the year it's available.
If you're on Apple One, you'll get a $7.50/month discount using the same cancel-activate-resubscribe process as Reserve cardholders. It's a smaller number than the Reserve's discount, since the Preferred only covers Apple TV and not Music, but it's still money you'd otherwise be leaving on the table.
The one real catch: This is a one-year benefit with a Dec. 31, 2026, activation deadline. Miss the deadline, and there's currently no option to claim it.
Bottom Line
Both Chase Sapphire cards now automatically pay for a portion of your Apple subscriptions, with no reimbursement to chase down. The Reserve's version is the better deal: two services, and a bigger Apple One discount.
The Preferred's version is smaller, but it's still free money for anyone willing to spend two minutes activating it before the end of 2026.
If you've already got either card in your wallet, there's no reason to leave this on the table.

I also have Apple One Premier and can unbundle and drop Fitness and maybe Arcade to save a few bucks. However, wouldn’t I also then lose the family sharing? Would it no longer be considered a Premier plan shareable with 5?
I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card and there is no option to activate Apple TV+ or Apple Music in the Benefits section of the card website. I do not have an existing subscription to either of these services. So far Chase have not been abel to help with this. Does anyone else have this problem?
I think the new benefits are only for new cardholders. I believe existing users do not get the new/modified benefits until October 26.
Thanks. That was not made clear – and certainly the Chase agents don’t all know about it, as my question has been referred to a “specialized team”!
If you had a reserve card before the new benefits were announced you won’t get the option to add apple subscriptions for free until end of October when the new benefits go live to old/existing cardholders.
