Chase will cut Emirates and its Skywards mileage program from the list of Chase transfer partners in two months time, according to a notice quietly added to Chase's transfer portal on Friday.

“Effective 12:00 AM ET on October 16th, 2025, the ability to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards® points to Skywards Miles will no longer be available,” that notice reads. Neither Chase nor Emirates have made a formal announcement about the impending change. This change was first spotted by Redditor prateek07 in the r/awardtravel community.

That means you've got just two more months to send points from cards like the *chase sapphire preferred* or the recently revamped *chase sapphire reserve* before it disappears.

That looming cut comes amid many changes between the big credit card companies and the United Arab Emirates-based carrier.

Just last month, Citi dropped the transfer ratio for sending ThankYou points from the usual 1:1 ratio to an inferior 5:4 transfer. American Express is set to do the exact same next month.

But unlike those banks and others, Chase points transfer to all airline and hotel partners on a 1:1 – or better, with a promotional transfer bonus. So rather than copy the inferior (and confusing) system of its competitors, Chase is dropping Emirates altogether.

Emirates' exit in mid-October will leave Chase with 10 airlines and three hotel brands on its roster of transfer partners.

With the ability to transfer points from all the major banks and few options to book through partner airline programs, Emirates Skywards was a steady option for years. But something is clearly shifting in Dubai: It's clear the Emirati airline is rethinking its loyalty program as a whole.

For starters, the airline began blocking travelers without status from booking first class award tickets this spring. After raising award rates and tacking on additional fees on all its routes to Dubai (DXB) over the years, Emirates followed suit last month by adding huge surcharges to its popular fifth-freedom routes to Europe.

Bottom Line

Chase will lose Emirates as a transfer partner effective Oct. 16, giving you just two months' time to send your Ultimate Rewards points to the Emirati airline.

It's just the latest sign that Emirates is drastically rethinking how it deals with the big banks and travelers looking to cash in their points for a “free” flight.
