This isn’t a dream – or a nightmare. This is real. Taco Bell is opening its own hotel in Palm Springs, California.
It will be called The Bell. What?
According to Business Insider, this Taco Bell hotel will open Aug. 9. But unlike the fast-food drive-thrus, it won’t be open forever – it’s a limited-time offering, though it’s not clear when it will close. Reservations are expected to open sometime in June.
Despite the limited-time opening, executives from the Tex-Mex chain say this isn’t some stunt, but the latest in Taco Bell’s efforts to move beyond fast food. And Chief Global Brand Officer Marisa Thalberg said they would “never say never” to a full-time hotel.
And though it’s not clear It’s also not clear if chalupas and crunchwrap supremes are included with every reservation, Taco Bell is going … well, full Taco Bell with this temporary hotel. It will be Taco Bell-themed, of course, with new menu items and “a nail-art, fades, and braid bar inspired by the chain.”
“This idea of allowing people to kind of fully experience and embrace and immerse themselves in every aspect of the Taco Bell lifestyle led us to the idea of doing a hotel,” Thalberg said.
