Hyatt has launched a brand new “Bonus Journeys” promotion to earn triple (or even quadruple) points at Hyatt properties this fall and winter.

Starting Oct. 1, you will earn triple points at every single Hyatt location across the globe for stays through Jan. 4, 2021. Tons of Hyatt (and Hyatt-affiliated) properties will earn triple points, from Hyatt Place to Park Hyatt and everything in between. MGM properties in Las Vegas like Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, and Aria also make the cut, as does the growing portfolio of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

But it gets even better: A select list of 160 resort locations (including some SLH and MGM properties in Las Vegas) will earn quadruple points if you hold the World of Hyatt Credit Card.

Hyatt continues to outdo itself with special promotions during the pandemic, and this is its most lucrative deal yet. Case in point: Unlike previous promos, you'll start earning 3x-4x points on your very first stay during the promotional period. And that's worth celebrating, as Hyatt points are the most valuable hotel points out there – and it's not particularly close.

Just be sure to register for this promotion before Nov. 30, 2020. Even if you've already got a Hyatt stay on the books, you can still earn triple (or quadruple) points so long as your stay falls between Oct. 1, 2020, and Jan. 4, 2021.

While travel this fall and winter is still uncertain, this is an easy way to potentially pile up some extra World of Hyatt points – you could register for the promo and tentatively book a Hyatt property. If coronavirus derails your plans, Hyatt is allowing free change and cancellation to nearly all reservations for stays through July 2021 so long as you cancel at least 24 hours before check-in.

Trying to redeem Hyatt points to lower your travel costs? Hyatt has extended its deal to get up to 25% off award bookings all the way through Jan. 4, 2021, too!

Breaking Down the Bonus Earning

This is an easy way to earn some bonus World of Hyatt points on your upcoming hotel stays.

If you've already got a Hyatt stay on the books during this promo period, register once this promotion goes live to earn triple points (or more). And even if you don't, it's worth registering for the promo just in case.

The bonus earning counts per stay, not per night. But considering normal Hyatt stays already earn 5x points per dollar, this bonus could add up fast. A $300 reservation this fall would earn you at least 4,500 World of Hyatt points (300 x 15 = 4,500). If you've got a World of Hyatt Credit Card and you're staying at one of the 160 special Hyatt properties where you earn quadruple points, that same stay would tally up to 6,000 World of Hyatt points.

Award nights start at just 5,000 World of Hyatt points per night on the low end, and cap at 40,000 points per night for its top-tier resorts. That will eventually change, as Hyatt is set to roll out peak and off-peak pricing for free night stays some time in 2021. Still, it's easily the most valuable points program for hotel stays, which makes this promo better than most.

And the ability to start earning triple (or quadruple) points on your very first stay is what makes this promotion really shine. Hyatt typically gives you this bonus earning on your second stay during the promotional period. Not so this time: You'll start earning bonus points straight away!

Bottom Line

If you're planning some travel this coming fall or winter (or already have a Hyatt stay booked) this is an easy chance to pile up some Hyatt points. These points are some of the most valuable out there, so be sure to register for the promotion to take advantage once it goes live.
