The list of ways you can use Capital One Venture miles just keeps growing.

Capital One on Wednesday announced a brand new platform that will allow cardholders to use their miles on tickets to sporting events, shows, music, and other experiences. It's called Capital One Entertainment.

Expected to launch Thursday, March 24, the program promises access to more than 500,00 events for cardholders including marquee sports games, culinary events, concerts, and more on the docket for the spring, summer and fall. But it's starting off with a bang: The first major event will be the NCAA Men's Final Four and Women's Final Four in New Orleans next month.

At Final Four weekend, cardholders can get two suite seats, a stadium tour, passes to Capital One JamFest, and Men's Final Four Fan Fest for 100,000 miles apiece. Or you can redeem 125,000 miles for a ticket in the lower bowl to watch the semifinals and championship games in the Men's Final Four.

Other experiences on tap for Capital One Entertainment include premium tickets to the iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, TX, the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the Capital One Orange Bowl, the College Football Playoff National Championship, James Beard Foundation events, the MICHELIN Guide culinary events, and more.

Just how far your Venture Miles (or cashback) gets you toward these event tickets depend on which card is in your wallet. For travelers racking up Venture Rewards miles on cards like the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, Capital One says every mile is worth .8 cents. That means what's normally a $100 ticket will cost you 12,500 miles in the Capital One Entertainment portal.

That falls a bit short of the value you get using Capital One Purchase Eraser, where every mile is worth 1 cent – and it's far less than the value you can squeeze out of Capital One transfer partners like Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, British Airways Avios, and more. Still, this is a fun way to redeem your miles for something a bit different.

For Rewards cash holders, a $100 dollar purchase is redeemable for $100 Rewards cash. Capital One says these experiences are available through redemption only – they're not available for purchase – and only by Capital One cardholders.

This new entertainment portal comes just weeks after the launch of Capital One Dining, offering exclusive access to cardholders at top restaurants nationwide. And it fits in nicely with the big push Capital One has made with its new Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, which burst onto the scene last fall as the newest premium travel credit offering perks like lounge access and a massive welcome bonus.

While the eye-popping introductory bonus of 100,000 Venture miles (plus a $200 credit for Airbnb or VRBO) is gone now, it's still offering 75,000 miles after spending $4,000 in the first three months. That's worth hundreds of dollars toward travel – or entertainment bookings through Capital One Entertainment.

But access to this portal goes far beyond Capital One's latest and greatest. Anyone with any of Capital One's Venture cards, Savor cards, Quicksilver cards, Spark cards or Journey cards can use the new product on the Capital One mobile app, Capital One's website, or by going to CapitalOne.com/entertainment. This includes the Venture X, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, and the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card.

The cards included in the program include:

  • Capital One Venture X
  • Capital One Venture
  • Capital One VentureOne
  • Capital One Savor

  • Capital One SavorOne Student
  • Capital One Quicksilver

Savor cardholders will get 8% cash back on all Capital One Entertainment purchases.

Bottom Line

Capital One is giving its cardholders the chance to use their miles or cashback on thousands of sporting events, concerts, culinary experiences, and more with the brand new Capital One Entertainment portal.

Starting with the NCAA Men's Final Four in April, cardholders will also have access to some premium experiences at select events, too.
