Our Analysis

With no annual fee, this card could be a no-brainer for Amazon fiends. It’s pretty similar to the Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card, which also gets Prime members 5% cashback. The biggest difference here is that the card is issued by Amex and not Chase. Additionally, the card offers a $125 Amazon gift card after approval as opposed to $50 on the Chase card.

The $125 gift card is a decent bonus, especially considering you don’t have to spend a dime on the card to get it. But the real value here is in the cashback option, as that can quickly pile up if you’re doing a bulk of your shopping through Amazon.

And despite the name, there’s no indication that there are any business requirements to be approved for the card. While we generally steer readers toward travel rewards cards, there’s no denying that cashback cards for retailers like Amazon have their place. Especially as more and more shoppers stick online.

Bottom Line

This is a worthy card to consider adding to your wallet if Amazon is your go-to shopping source. We understand that travel rewards cards aren't for everybody and if you are a frequent Amazon shopper, this card could certainly make sense in your wallet.
