Earn Double Points on Hyatt Stays with New ‘Bonus Journeys’ Promo

Hyatt is out with a brand new promotion that can earn you double points at more than 1,000 Hyatt properties from Feb. 15 through May 15, 2020.

The one hitch with this promotion is that the bonus earning doesn’t start until your second Hyatt stay during the promotional period. Still, it could be fairly easy to rack up World of Hyatt points fast through this promo – and that’s great, as Hyatt points are the most valuable hotel points by far.

Tons of Hyatt (and Hyatt-affiliated) properties will earn double points, from Hyatt Place to Park Hyatt and everything in between. MGM properties in Las Vegas like Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, and Aria also make the cut, as does the growing portfolio of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

It gets even better if you have the World of Hyatt Credit Card. Cardholders can earn 1,500 bonus points for weekend reservations (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) – starting with the second stay.

Just register through the promotional page by March 31 and you’ll start earning the bonus points after your second stay between Feb. 15 and May 15, 2020. Even if you don’t have a Hyatt stay on the books, it’s worth registering!

Breaking Down the Bonus Earning

This is an easy way to earn some bonus World of Hyatt points on your upcoming hotel stays.

If you’ve already got a Hyatt stay on the books during this promo period, register now to earn double points. And even if you don’t, it’s worth registering for the promo – just in case.

The bonus earning counts per stay, not per night. But considering normal Hyatt stays already earn 5x points per dollar, this bonus could add up fast. A $300 reservation – after triggering the bonus with a previous first stay –  would earn you 3,000 World of Hyatt points. If part of your stay falls on the weekend and you’ve got the World of Hyatt credit card, that would be 4,500 Hyatt points.

Award nights start at just 5,000 World of Hyatt points per night on the low end, and cap at 40,000 points per night for its top tier properties. That may change soon, as Hyatt is set to roll out peak and off-peak pricing for free night stays sometime in March. Still, it’s easily the most valuable points program for hotel stays, which makes this promo better than most.

Unfortunately, you won’t trigger your bonus earning until your second stay during the Feb. 15 to May 15 period. You can earn a total of 100,000 bonus points through this promotion.

Bottom Line

If you’ve got some Hyatt stays already booked, this is an easy chance to get more. Hyatt points are some of the most valuable out there, so be sure to register for the promotion before March 31 to take advantage.
