WOW air Expands to Four New Midwest Cities

Today, WOW air announced new flight services from Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL). For only $99 customers can travel nonstop to Iceland, and for $149 they can continue on to one of WOW‘s other 23 locations throughout Europe, such as Dublin, London, Paris, Frankfurt or Berlin. Tickets are on sale today.

The 2018 inaugural flights are as follows:

  • Detroit on April 26
  • Cleveland on May 4
  • Cincinnati will be May 10
  • St. Louis on May 17

WOW air is an ultra low cost carrier so you will have fees for bags ($39 carry-on, $49 checked bag), seat assignment, as well as food. As long as you understand the fees, this can be a cheap way to get to Iceland or Europe.

If you’d like to book the new routes we highly recommend booking ASAP! After announcing new routes, WOW air always puts them on sale for a limited time. Flights are as low as $99 one-way to Iceland!

Bottom Line

I flew WOW air from Chicago to Iceland on July 14th and had no complaints. I recommend paying for seat assignment and carry-on, which only added $49 to my ticket each way. It’s great to see that WOW air continues to expand their US service. This will increase competition and hopefully drive down prices in the new markets, which is good news for all travelers in the Midwest. Make sure to book the new routes today while they are on sale!

I’m really really hoping that they add a MSP service. I know they avoid bigger airports, but terminal 2 would be perfect!
