Alaska is offering 50% off flights one-way or roundtrip flights to and from Kona when you book for two passengers … or maybe just one passenger, too! This sale works on any Alaska flights from the mainland to Kona, whether you fly nonstop or make a connection. And it's valid on travel from Aug. 13 through Oct. 31, 2023.

This is a rare BOGO sale from Alaska, bringing flight prices to Hawaii from dozens of cities across the U.S. under $398 total. Even if the Big Island isn't on the top of your list for Hawaiian islands to visit, you could use this deal to make it to Hawaii on the cheap, then connect onward to another island like Maui or Kauai. Alaska is also offering a 10% discount on flights to other Hawaiian islands with the same KONABOGO promo code.
There are some restrictions, though. The promo only works for flights to Kona on Sundays through Wednesdays, while flights departing Kona are only available on Tuesdays through Fridays. And it only applies to economy fares, including both Saver (what Alaska calls its basic economy fares) and main cabin. So if you had your sights set on scoring a cheap first class ticket with this promotion, you're out of luck.

The sale also applies to flights with connections, which means you could fly from almost anywhere in the U.S. to Hawaii for half the price this summer and fall. Take a look at this example itinerary for two roundtrip flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Kona this September. That's less than $300 per person to fly to the Big Island and back!
While the terms and conditions clearly state the discount is only valid on itineraries with at least two passengers, it appears to work for solo travelers, too. This is what we see when we searched flights from Minneapolis to Kona for one passenger, using the same KONABOGO promo code.
